
Technical Sales Representative

SUMMARY: Fraser Steel is seeking a highly motivated Technical Sales Representative – Tube Fabrication Services to accelerate growth in our fabricated metal components and tube‑based assemblies. This role is focused heavily on new business development, prospecting, and expanding our market presence across OEM, industrial, and custom fabrication markets.
The ideal candidate is a proactive “hunter” with strong technical aptitude, experience in metal fabrication manufacturing environments, and the ability to consult with engineering and operations teams. This position requires a balance of strategic account development, solution‑based selling, and technical communication.
Key Responsibilities Business Development & Sales Growth
Drive revenue growth for Fraser Steel’s fabrication capabilities.
Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve growth targets in assigned territories and market segments.
Identify, qualify, and secure new business opportunities in OEM B2B setting.
Build and manage a robust pipeline of opportunities using CRM tools with clear activity tracking and forecasting accuracy.
Conduct value‑based selling, identifying opportunities for upselling, cross‑selling, and expanding share of wallet.
Develop strong, long‑term relationships with engineering teams, procurement, buyers, and operational leadership at customer organizations.
Conduct on‑site customer visits, technical presentations, and plant tours to understand customer applications and requirements.
Conduct factory tours and sales presentations to prospective customers.
Maintain a high level of communication, responsiveness, and customer satisfaction across all accounts.
Technical & Operational Collaboration
Provide customers with technical guidance on manufacturability, weld processes, tolerances, materials, and design feasibility in partnership with Fraser Steel engineering and estimating teams.
Interpret and review blueprints, CAD models, and technical specifications for accurate proposal and solution development.
Deliver competitive, cost‑based proposals aligned with material, labor, and market considerations.
Share customer and market insights with internal teams to support continuous improvement and entrepreneurial initiatives.
Stay informed on industry trends, competitive offerings, and new technologies in tube fabrication, metal processing, and assembly production.
Represent Fraser Steel at tradeshows, conferences, and industry events to strengthen brand visibility/(travel 30-50%)
Work closely with the marketing team to develop campaigns that drive sales.

Qualifications & Requirements Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Industrial Technology, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
Minimum 3+ years of industrial, manufacturing, or OEM sales experience.
Proven success in new business acquisition and technical/consultative selling.
Experience with metal fabrication processes such as MIG/TIG welding, laser cutting, tube bending, machining, powder coating, or contract manufacturing.
Experience selling into OEMs is strongly preferred.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, CAD files, GD&T, and manufacturing specs.
Working knowledge of lean manufacturing and make‑to‑order environments.
Proficiency in CRM systems (Salesforce, HubSpot, etc.) and Microsoft Office Suite.
