
Outside Sales Representative - Parts and Service
Team JDC, Antioch, CA, United States
This role will be responsible for generating sales for JDC product lines, including rentals, equipment sales, service, and parts as well as growing sales with new and existing customers in the electric utility, transmission & distribution, telecommunications, and hydro-excavation industries. This position will have a main focus on driving business development and fostering customer satisfaction.
Job Responsibilities
Scheduling appointments and visiting existing customers to review product needs and determining other opportunities with the commercial and municipal market.
Generate new customers and explore new markets as directed to include electric utility
Continuously update customers on part/product changes and modifications
Promote service, maintenance, and rebuild capabilities
Provide solutions to customers’ problems
Attend local Trade Shows and Conferences as directed
Part/Product introduction and demonstrations as required
Have complete knowledge of parts suppliers and product line(s) and promote according
Aggressively canvas, solicit and drive new parts, service, rental revenue in the assigned geographic market
Liaison between customers and the company for up-to-date status of service, pricing and new product release launches
Performing maintenance and updating of customers’ accounts including contact names for future sales in CRM
Utilize CRM to report on market opportunities and activity
Keeping up to date on new products, services, procedures and tools by attending training and departmental meetings
Provide information from the field as it relates to competitive product pricing and trends
Meeting and exceeding facility key measurements to insure profitability and future growth
Assist in identifying and selling obsolete/overstock inventory
Will be required to forecast product sales
Must follow all company policies and procedures
Must adhere to strict approval process for all financially impactful decisions
Other duties as assigned
Job Requirements
Experience working in a heavy equipment or truck dealership environment, specifically in the parts area
Three years' experience in the electric utility, transmission & distribution industry preferred
Proven track record of success selling to commercial entities
Demonstrated ability to plan, prioritize, organize and motivate in a high-performance work environment to achieve established goals while maintaining respect for people and our customers
Proven track record of customer focus
Ability to resolve conflicts and solve problems
Strong communication and interpersonal skills (listening, verbal and written)
Knowledge of parts distribution procedures
Working knowledge of Word, Excel, etc. Ability to learn JDC software.
Knowledge of parts aftermarket
The ability to effectively manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Maintain a clean driving record and be capable of maintaining the requirements needed to drive company vehicles as they pertain to the job at hand. This would include company pick-up trucks/vans.
