We are seeking an experienced
Editor in Chief
to serve as the senior editorial authority supporting the
USSOCOM J39 program . This role leads the development and oversight of content supporting
Operations in the Information Environment (OIE)
and
Psychological Operations (PSYOP) .
You will ensure all content is
credible, accurate, mission‑aligned, and strategically effective , while maintaining consistency in narrative, tone, and messaging across multiple platforms under the
Senior Military Engagement Platform (SMEP) .
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage editorial and creative teams producing mission-aligned content
Provide oversight across multiple products and dissemination platforms
Ensure all content meets:
Journalistic and editorial standards
Accuracy and factual integrity
Government messaging intent
Review, approve, and guide development of:
Written publications
Digital content
Strategic communication products
Maintain consistency in
tone, narrative, and messaging
across all outputs
Align content with
OIE, IO, and PSYOP objectives
Establish and enforce
editorial guidelines and quality control processes
Collaborate with:
Analysts and planners (operational alignment)
Leadership (strategic direction)
Oversee
foreign language translation integration
and localized messaging efforts
Required Qualifications
Active
Top Secret clearance
with
SCI eligibility
10+ years of experience managing:
Professional journalists
Editorial and creative staff across print, digital, or online publications
Demonstrated experience operating within
established editorial standards and governance frameworks
Desired Qualifications
Experience working with
foreign language publications and translation processes
(3+ years preferred)
Background supporting:
Strategic communications
Information Operations (IO)
Influence or messaging campaigns
Familiarity with
DoD, USSOCOM, or interagency communication environments
