food business

that sells high-end Chinese foods into the UK, Europe and beyond. The role is very autonomous and you will be talking to (and visiting) existing and new customers (all are supermarkets, restaurants, caterers and retailers), attending food-events and developing new business as well as introducing customers to new CHINESE food flavours and products. There are excellent career opportunities in this expanding sector at the moment.

SALARY:

€35,000 – €45,000 DOE per annual + Performance Related Bonus

ROLE OVERVIEW We are seeking a

Chinese-speaking Field Sales Consultant

to drive sales growth, expand distribution, and strengthen market penetration across ethnic FMCG channels in Germany.

This role focuses on

building relationships with wholesalers, retailers, and restaurant groups , increasing product listings, and developing new in‑market opportunities. It is a

field‑based position

requiring regular client visits, trade partner engagement, and hands‑on commercial activity.

The ideal candidate will bring strong FMCG experience, a proactive mindset, and the ability to work autonomously while managing multiple stakeholders.

RESPONSIBILITIES Business Development & Market Growth

Identify and develop new business opportunities within the retail, wholesale, and foodservice sectors.

Expand the customer base and drive product penetration across ethnic channels.

Target key strategic accounts to ensure robust and effective regional coverage.

Account & Relationship Management

Manage day‑to‑day relationships with wholesalers, trade partners, retailers, and restaurant groups.

Act as a primary point of contact for in‑market enquiries, ensuring timely follow‑up and professional support.

Build and maintain strong, influential relationships with sales teams, buyers, and key stakeholders.

Support trade partners in developing in‑market sales and strengthening the supply chain.

Monitor warehouse inventory levels to ensure availability and uninterrupted supply.

Track distribution, pricing, and competitor activities to support business and promotional planning.

Product Promotion & Demonstration

Conduct product presentations, demonstrations, and sampling activities to secure new listings.

Coordinate and execute in‑store promotions, including weekend activations where required.

Support the introduction and launch of new products across all relevant channels.

Reporting & Market Insights

Prepare regular sales/activity reports and provide market insights to internal stakeholders.

Update customer records and maintain a structured journey plan to ensure efficient field coverage.

Stay informed on market trends, consumer behaviours, and developments affecting product performance.

Brand Representation & Industry Engagement

Represent the brand at trade events, exhibitions, and industry networking activities.

Uphold strong brand image, ensuring consistent, positive representation in all trade interactions.

Travel for business needs as required.

REQUIREMENTS Education & Experience

University degree (Business, Marketing, or equivalent preferred).

1–2 years of relevant experience

in FMCG, distribution management, trade marketing, or field sales.

Proven track record working with retail, wholesale, or foodservice channels.

Skills

Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder‑management abilities.

Capable of analysing sales data, market trends, and performance metrics.

Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Excellent organisational skills, able to manage multiple priorities independently.

Languages

Good command of

German

English is desirable but not necessary

Highly motivated, self‑driven, and results‑oriented.

Comfortable working in a field‑based environment with frequent travel.

Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative, team‑focused mindset.

Reliable, disciplined, and adaptable with a flexible approach to working hours.

Other Requirements

Permission to work in Germany.

Full European driving licence (role involves regular driving).

Interest in Asian cuisine is beneficial for client communication and product engagement.
