OVERVIEW The Communications Specialist, Digital Marketing and Multimedia Design, will play a key role in expanding USCRI’s visibility and strengthening its brand through compelling digital content and strategic marketing efforts. This position is responsible for developing and executing digital campaigns while also producing high-quality visual and multimedia assets across platforms, including web, social media, and print.

The ideal candidate is a team player and creative and analytical communicator with strong design skills and experience in digital marketing, capable of translating policy and advocacy priorities into engaging, accessible content. This role will help drive brand awareness, increase audience engagement, and improve website performance through a combination of content creation, design, and data-informed strategy.

This position reports to the Director of Policy and Communications and works closely with members of the Communications team and cross‑functional staff across the organization.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Leads the development and execution of USCRI’s visual identity across digital and print platforms, including designing graphics, reports, social media assets, and multimedia content (photo and video).

Leads and oversees the visual and content elements of USCRI’s website, including content management, visual design, and user experience, working within existing platforms (e.g., WordPress); partners with Communications and other departments to ensure timely updates and continuous improvement.

Develops marketing strategies that align with the organization’s communications goals.

Supports the Communications team to execute campaigns across various digital channels; contributes to material for social media platforms.

Designs and produces high-quality print and digital materials, including reports, social graphics, web assets, and organizational collateral.

Measures and reports on the performance of digital marketing campaigns and assesses against goals.

Conducts market research and analyzes trends to identify new opportunities and improve campaign performance.

Collaborates with cross‑functional teams to produce engaging content and optimize user experience.

Stays up to date with emerging digital marketing trends and technologies.

Performs other job‑related duties as assigned by the supervisor.

REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or related field.

3+ years of experience in digital marketing or related field.

Strong understanding of Search Engine Optimization (SEO) principles, including keyword research, on‑page optimization, and link‑building.

Experience using WordPress to create and edit webpages (specific work with WPBakery plugin a plus).

Excellent analytical skills and experience with web analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics).

Experience managing a Google Ads grant a major plus.

Demonstrated experience using Adobe Creative Cloud for graphic design, layout, and video/photo editing.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Experience working for a nonprofit organization and/or passion for the mission of USCRI.

Must be a self‑starter with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks at once.

Experience working with web development processes and collaborating with developers a plus; ability to implement and manage content within CMS platforms (e.g., WordPress).

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Use of manual dexterity, tactile, visual, and audio acuity.

Use of repetitive motion, prolonged periods of sitting and standing, and sustained visual and mental applications and demands.

Occasional lifting (up to 25 pounds), bending, pulling, and carrying.
