Role: Purchasing Agent III - Ideally someone with a Senior Project Engineer background
Location: Downtown Seattle, WA
We are partnering with a leading employee-owned general contractor to hire a
Purchasing Agent III
to support multiple active construction projects across the Seattle market. This is a procurement-focused role within a construction operations environment - ideal for candidates with a Project Engineer or Senior PE background who enjoy the technical and purchasing side of the business.
This position is not project-specific and is not a warehouse construction role. Instead, it supports ongoing projects by managing the procurement of contract-defined materials and coordinating closely with project teams, vendors, and preconstruction.
What They’re Looking For
Background as a Project Engineer or Senior Project Engineer
Strong ability to read plans and understand construction documents
Solid understanding of construction materials and installation methods
Experience working for a general contractor, subcontractor, or related construction environment
Minimum of 3 years of construction industry experience
Core Responsibilities
Procure contract-defined materials for active construction projects
Define and communicate project requirements to vendors
Review and align vendor proposals with contract scope, schedule, and budget
Coordinate RFIs, submittals, change orders, deliveries, and installations related to purchased materials
Assist with budgeting, billing, and ERP-related processes
Provide estimating support to Preconstruction teams
Support the Purchasing Manager with business planning, growth initiatives, and training materials
Office-based role supporting multiple projects
General contracting / construction operations setting
Highly collaborative team environment
