Estimator – Drive Precision and Profitability for High-Impact Commercial and Federal Builds Job Overview: Company: Lake Contracting, Inc.
Salary/Pay Rate: $65,000 to $85,000 per year plus Performance Based Bonus Opportunities.
Job/Employment Type: Full Time.
Project Scope: Commercial, Government or Federal.
Mandatory Licenses & Certifications: None Required.
How You Will Make an Impact:
Formulate comprehensive cost estimates for labor, materials, and equipment to ensure competitive and profitable project bids.
Interpret intricate construction drawings and specifications to identify potential project risks and scope gaps.
Coordinate and level subcontractor proposals to build a reliable and cost-effective partner network.
Execute value engineering assessments to identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising structural integrity.
Maintain updated historical cost databases by analyzing unit rates from previously self-performed projects.
Direct communication with clients and superintendents to align project budgets with real-world field logistics.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
Minimum of 3–5 years of dedicated experience in construction estimating.
Proven proficiency in reading and interpreting detailed construction drawings and technical specifications.
Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel for complex data analysis and budgeting.
Strong analytical background with a focus on self-performing general contracting workflows.
Preferred Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related technical field.
Demonstrated experience using specialized industry estimating software.
Hands-on field experience in excavation, road construction, or concrete work.
