The Role This is a full‑time, on‑site

Used Car Sales Manager

position located in Modesto, CA. You will lead the

pre‑owned vehicle department , driving sales performance, managing inventory strategy, and developing a high‑performing team.

You’ll play a key role in day‑to‑day operations—coaching the floor, improving processes, partnering with Finance and Service, and ensuring our customers have a transparent, confident buying experience.

What You’ll Own

Lead and manage all aspects of the pre‑owned sales department (people, process, inventory, performance)

Recruit, train, mentor, and motivate a results‑driven sales team

Set clear sales targets and hold the team accountable to daily/weekly/monthly goals

Desk deals, support negotiations, and ensure strong closing performance

Manage used vehicle inventory: sourcing, appraisals, pricing strategy, merchandising, and turn

Monitor KPIs (volume, gross, turn, closing ratio, lead response, CSI) and adjust quickly to hit targets

Ensure compliance with dealership policies, documentation standards, and ethical business practices

Create a culture focused on professionalism, teamwork, and a high‑level customer experience

What We’re Looking For

Proven success in

pre‑owned vehicle sales

and managing sales processes

Strong customer service instincts with a track record of driving customer satisfaction

Experience leading a team and consistently hitting/exceeding department sales goals

Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills

Understanding of automotive industry standards and best practices (pricing, appraisals, inventory turn, merchandising)

Ability to coach, inspire, and develop talent in a fast‑paced environment

High school diploma or equivalent required (Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred)
