Position: Maintenance Civil Superintendent Houston, TX area. The Civil Superintendent reports directly to the Site Manager and is responsible for managing the field execution of civil activities in all phases, including planning, scheduling, estimating, and executing. The role incorporates safety and environmental responsibility into daily action, attending or leading at least one tailgate meeting daily, performing job walks, and inspecting housekeeping, quality of work, and employee support.
Qualifications
10 years experience in supervision overseeing civil craft work in a petrochemical environment.
OSHA 30 or CSST Certification required.
Maintaining training and readiness as a Competent Person, 40‑hour HAZWOPER, Basic First Aid, CPR, and AED use.
TWIC Card Required.
Proficient in Microsoft Office products and familiar with the Google suite of software (Gmail, Drive, Meet, etc).
Responsibilities
Coordinate with all contractor supervision assigned to the project and be a large contributor of engagement across the facility, continually driving the safety culture of a Goal Zero mindset.
Provide leadership and team building, influencing front‑line leadership by example and participating in the continuous professional development of our nested workforce.
Help organize material to be presented during Supervisors or Craft Toolbox Safety Meetings.
Perform both formal and impromptu safety and health audits.
Assess safety and performance and recommend corrective actions.
Perform and/or review all safety reports, transmitting them to the Regional Safety Manager and other management as necessary.
Manage all elements of project execution.
Physical Involvement Employee may be required to climb ladders, scaffolds, structures, etc. above and below ground level; maintain balance on ladders, scaffolds, structures; reach in all directions, handle and manipulate objects and materials; coordinate the movements of eyes, hands, and fingers to operate tools and equipment; lift 30 to 50 pounds from ground level, waist level, and/or overhead; carry objects, tools, equipment, etc.; stand; sit; walk; push; pull; bend; kneel; crouch/squat; crawl; see with or without correction; hear with or without correction.
