Custom Home Superintendent
Cedar City & Brian Head, UT | Full-time | On-site (3+ yr REQ)
About Choice Builders
Choice Builders is a veteran-owned, award-winning custom home builder serving Cedar City, Brian Head, and Southern Utah. We are known for quality craftsmanship, clear communication, and a values-driven process. Our mission is simple: build homes the right way and deliver a building experience rooted in honesty, integrity, service, results, and growth.
We build custom and semi-custom homes and residential projects, many of which involve complex designs, detailed finishes, and challenging site conditions. Our work requires thoughtful planning, steady field leadership, and consistent execution.
We are looking for a good, solid Custom Home Superintendent who takes ownership of the work, communicates clearly, and knows how to run a custom residential job from start to finish.
About the Role
This role is best suited for a superintendent who has already run custom homes independently and is looking to grow with a stable, values-driven builder. You will typically manage 24 custom homes at a time, including projects in the Brian Head area. These homes include detailed plans, engineered designs, and higher-than-average finish expectations. Success in this role requires:
Strong plan interpretation
Attention to quality and craftsmanship
Clear communication with homeowners and internal team members
Daily coordination with trade partners
Practical problem-solving and sound judgment
Ownership of safety, quality, and schedule
If you are a superintendent who knows how to run custom work, keep jobs organized, and deliver quality without drama, this role is a good fit.
What You'll Do
Run the field with ownership and consistency, balancing schedule, quality, and trade coordination
Oversee all on-site activities from foundation through closeout
Coordinate trade partners and ensure work meets plans, specifications, and quality standards
Review architectural and structural plans and proactively resolve conflicts
Maintain project schedules and communicate progress clearly
Work closely with the Project Manager and Selections team to confirm finishes, fixtures, and scope
Maintain clean, safe, and organized job sites
Complete accurate daily logs, photos, and field documentation
Hold trade partners accountable to quality, professionalism, and timelines
Manage punch-out, final completion, and warranty preparation
What We're Looking For
We are looking for a superintendent who is steady, dependable, and comfortable running custom residential work - someone who communicates clearly, stays ahead of the work, and delivers consistent, high-quality results.
Required Qualifications
3+ years of superintendent or project lead experience running custom residential projects independently
Strong ability to read and interpret architectural and structural plan sets
Experience coordinating multiple trade partners
Clear, professional communication with homeowners and project teams
Demonstrated attention to quality and jobsite standards
Comfort working in varying site conditions, including winter scheduling and access challenges
Comfortable using smartphones, tablets, and construction software (We use Microsoft Office and Buildertrend)
Alignment with our values: Honesty, Integrity, Service, Results, Growth
Clean driving record and ability to pass background and drug screening
Preferred
Buildertrend experience
Experience with custom homes or complex residential projects
Experience with mountain homes or challenging topography
Familiarity with Southern Utah building conditions and trade partners
Why This Role Matters
Custom homes are the heart of our brand. They require steady leadership, excellent communication, and disciplined execution. This role ensures that each home reflects the quality and care our clients expect and that our standards remain high.
