Senior Solutions Architect (Bay Area Only)

With our recent $50M Series B, Qdrant has a clear mandate: Build the sovereign retrieval layer for modern AI. Our mission is to provide the infrastructure layer for the next decade of AI, moving beyond the limitations of legacy search to give enterprises true data sovereignty. We are constructing vector-native, Rust-compiled infrastructure that gives enterprises absolute control over their systems: from a local edge agent to a billion-scale, air-gapped deployment.
We are looking for a Senior Solutions Architect to join our Field Team. This is not a "standard demo" role. You will sit across from lead engineers at the world's most ambitious AI startups to solve the infrastructure bottlenecks that break traditional databases. You are a strategic partner who owns the technical journey from initial qualification to a billion-scale deployment.
Tasks
Drive the Technical Win:
You don't just support the Account Executive: you direct the technical strategy of the deal. You will own technical qualification, guiding AEs to ensure we only invest resources in highly qualified, winnable opportunities. Architectural Rigor & Validation:
You possess the technical depth to help customers navigate market hype. You identify the structural and financial limitations of legacy architectures (like the overhead of JVM-based engines or the lock-in of proprietary APIs) before the customer commits to a flawed Proof of Concept. Architect Sovereign AI Systems:
Design high-performance vector search architectures that respect data gravity. You will help enterprises build retrieval systems that leverage their existing infrastructure. Enable Agentic Workloads:
Work directly with the builders of next-generation AI agents. You will architect multi-tenant, high-frequency read/write memory systems that scale seamlessly, solving the exact database pressures created by ephemeral LLM workloads. Bay Area Evangelism:
You know your way around a whiteboard. Whether it's an onsite session in the Bay Area or a global webinar, you communicate with a level of clarity that builds immediate trust with Staff Engineers and CTOs alike. Requirements
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS A Seasoned Communicator:
You can whiteboard the first principles of an HNSW graph to a skeptical Staff Engineer and explain the commercial ROI of bare-metal performance to a CIO. An Infrastructure Purist:
You have 5+ years of experience in systems engineering, data infrastructure, or deeply technical solutions architecture. You understand memory-mapped I/O, binary quantization, and the difference between a table scan and a graph traversal. Commercial:
You understand that the best code in the world doesn\'t matter if the deal doesn\'t close. You know how to map technical pain to business impact and aren\'t afraid to challenge an AE's deal strategy to secure the technical win. Data Ecosystem Fluent:
You understand modern data architectures, object storage economics, and how large enterprises manage data pipelines. You know how to talk to a Head of Data about minimizing data movement. AI & Agentic Native:
You are actively following the AI agent ecosystem and understand why cloud-only architectures are ripe for disruption for agentic workloads. Benefits
