Role Description This is a full-time hybrid role based in San Diego, CA, with the flexibility for partial remote work. As an SEO Strategist, you will develop, execute, and optimize search engine strategies to enhance online visibility and drive organic traffic. Day-to-day tasks involve conducting keyword research, performing SEO audits, implementing on-page optimization, managing link-building campaigns, and analyzing web analytics data to provide actionable insights. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure SEO best practices are integrated across content and marketing initiatives.

Responsibilities

Manage and Support 5–8 Clients

Develop and execute comprehensive SEO strategies aligned with client business goals

Conduct advanced keyword research, competitive analysis, and search opportunity mapping

Lead on-page optimization initiatives including title tags, meta descriptions, internal linking, and content optimization

Conduct technical SEO audits and collaborate with development teams to resolve crawl, indexing, and performance issues

Analyze website performance using tools such as Google Analytics, Google Search Console, and SEO platforms

Identify opportunities for content growth, site architecture improvements, and search visibility expansion

Guide and support execution of off-page SEO initiatives including link acquisition and digital PR opportunities

Collaborate with the content, paid media, and marketing teams to align SEO initiatives with broader campaign strategies

Provide strategic insights and performance reporting to clients and internal stakeholders

Stay up-to-date on industry trends, algorithm updates, and evolving SEO best practices

Qualifications

Proficiency in Keyword Research and On-Page SEO to optimize website content and improve search engine rankings.

Experience conducting in-depth SEO Audits to identify opportunities and weaknesses in website performance.

Strong knowledge of Link Building strategies and techniques to enhance domain authority and organic traffic.

Expertise in Web Analytics and reporting to measure performance, identify trends, and guide strategy adjustments.

Familiarity with SEO tools such as Google Analytics, Google Search Console, and SEO software like SEMrush or Ahrefs.

Collaborative mindset with excellent communication skills for cross-functional team coordination.

A passion for staying updated on the latest SEO trends, algorithms, and best practices.

Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field preferred.

Requirements

5-7 years of experience in SEO or organic search strategy

Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Computer Science, or a related field

Strong knowledge of technical SEO, on-page optimization, and search ranking factors

Experience conducting technical audits and implementing SEO recommendations

Proficiency with tools such as Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Ahrefs, SEMrush, or similar platforms

Ability to interpret performance data and translate insights into strategic recommendations

Strong communication skills with the ability to present strategy and performance insights to clients

Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment

Salary: $75,000-$90,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
