Biotech Field Commercial Manager – Remote & Travel

We are seeking qualified candidates for the role of Commercial Manager (Northeast), Commercial Manager (Southwest) and Commercial Manager (Northwest) with our European-based client. We currently have three opportunities for exceptional sales and business development candidates in Boston, San Diego, and San Francisco that meet the criteria in this position announcement.

This role is most ideally suited for graduates of a Masters or PhD-level education in cellular biology or related field and who is currently or most recently engaged in a sales or business development role in the same.

OUR CLIENT Our client is a leading global manufacturer of cell counting and analysis equipment. They specialize in developing and producing high-precision instrumentation providing consistent data for a myriad of customers across biotech, pharma, and academic industry segments.

This is an individual contributor role working remotely with full territory ownership and reporting to the Global Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) in Europe. The role will require regular travel within the assigned territory with visits to customers, prospects, and key industry events.

Main responsibilities

Drive new customer acquisition across biotech, pharmaceutical, and academic institutions.

Build and maintain a strong and active sales pipeline through prospecting, networking and industry events.

Own the full sales cycle from lead generation to deal closure.

Achieve and exceed territory revenue targets.

Develop and execute a strategic territory growth plan aligned with company objectives.

Grow revenue within the existing installed base through consultative selling.

Build long-term relationships with scientists, lab managers, and procurement teams.

Engage regularly with end users, influencers, and decision makers.

Work closely with field application scientists, business development, and global commercial teams.

5 to 10+ years of sales experience within life sciences, biotechnology, or laboratory instrumentation.

Proven track record of new business development and pipeline development.

Experience selling into biotech, pharma, or academic research environments.

Strong territory planning and sales execution skills.

MSc in cell biology, immunology, cancer biology, or related field is highly preferred.

The ideal candidate

Will be eligible to work in the US. Our client is willing to offer OPT and visa sponsorship for the right candidate.

Will possess a hunter sales mentality that enjoys opening new doors, building pipeline, and closing deals.

Be an excellent communicator and relationship builder as well as be a dynamic public speaker with strong writing skills.

This is a remote role and will require 80-90% travel to customer sites within the successful hire’s territory.
