The Impact you will have in this role:
Being a member of IT CSS Equities Delivery team, the UI / UX role specializes in planning, designing, developing, and testing user interfaces and user experience components for all products, platforms, solutions, and tools for the firm. Provides user experience design, usability, evaluation, and testing expertise to product development teams, including the analysis, investigation, and selection of applications and methods to enhance user interaction through look, feel, process flow and choice of responsive elements. Performs technical review of proposed design and product changes for feasibility, integration with existing technical architectures and systems, and alignment with desired user experience and design standards.
Your Primary Responsibilities:
- Lead and grow a high?performing UI development team through hiring, coaching, mentoring, and performance management.
- Define UI engineering strategy, standards, and best practices aligned with organizational technology roadmaps.
- Drive adoption of modern frontend frameworks, design systems, and reusable component libraries.
- Influence architectural decisions related to frontend platforms, tooling, and integrations.
- Act as a technical escalation point for complex UI challenges.
- Oversee the design, development, and delivery of responsive, scalable, and high?performance user interfaces.
- Ensure UI solutions meet standards for accessibility, security, performance, and cross?browser compatibility.
- Guide implementation of enterprise?grade design systems and frontend architecture patterns.
- Review critical code, enforce code quality, and establish strong CI/CD and testing practices.
- Partner with backend teams to ensure seamless API integration and optimal end?to?end user experience.
- Collaborate with UX, Product, and Business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions.
- Provide technical input during product planning, estimation, and roadmap discussions.
- Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non?technical audiences.
- Support client or stakeholder engagements when UI technical leadership is required.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 8 years of related experience
- Bachelor's degree preferred and/or equivalent experience
Talents Needed for Success:
- 12+ years of software development experience, with 8+ years focused on UI / frontend engineering.
- 3+ years in a technical leadership or people management role.
- Expert knowledge in development concepts.
- Strong expertise in modern frontend technologies such as: JavaScript / TypeScript, React, Angular, or similar frameworks, HTML5, CSS3, responsive design.
- Experience building and scaling design systems and component libraries.
- Proven experience delivering enterprise scale web applications.
- Familiarity with micro?frontend architectures and headless platforms.
- Knowledge of frontend performance optimization and web vitals.
- Strong understanding of accessibility and inclusive design principles.
- Ability to leverage DevOps techniques and practices like Continuous Integration, Continuous Deployment, Test Automation, Build Automation and Test-Driven Development to enable the rapid delivery of working code utilizing tools like Jenkins, Cloudbees, Git, etc.
- Experience with Agile methodology and ability to collaborate with other team members
