General Motors, Mountain View, CA, United States

Work Arrangement: This role allows a hybrid work schedule. The successful candidate is expected to be in the office three times per week, or at a frequency determined by business needs.

The Role

Join General Motors' Human Interface Design organization, where we craft digital experiences that enhance our in-vehicle software, mobile applications, and branded web platforms. As a Senior Producer, you will play a crucial role in shaping delivery processes and operational models that empower our design team to succeed. Collaborate closely with product, engineering, marketing, brand, and design leaders to align priorities, expedite decision-making, and ensure that our design vision becomes reality.

In this strategic role, you will connect design with product, engineering, and marketing teams, creating systems that help deliver high-quality products rapidly and effectively.

We are currently hiring for multiple Senior Producer positions across two key teams:

  • The Design Ops Vehicle OS team focuses on the operational strategy for GM's in-vehicle digital design ecosystem. Work alongside Product Management, Program Management, and Engineering to translate user experience visions into high-quality deliverables while promoting design excellence. This team establishes the workflows and communication channels necessary to keep complex teams aligned and unblocked, ensuring designers can create cohesive and innovative in-vehicle experiences.

  • The Web & App Governance team, along with the Enterprise UX team, is also looking for Senior Producers. The Governance team ensures consistent use of design components across GM's brands while the Enterprise UX team develops user-centered web and mobile experiences for various internal and external customers. In both roles, you will enhance coordination and delivery, helping teams tackle complex design challenges.

What You'll Do

  • Lead and refine workflows and operating models that drive predictability, speed, and quality in design delivery.
  • Facilitate alignment across diverse teams, fostering a shared understanding of priorities and decision points.
  • Oversee the end-to-end delivery of design initiatives, ensuring design intent, accessibility, timelines, and quality are upheld.
  • Create communication artifacts such as roadmaps and status updates that enhance visibility for partners and leadership.
  • Proactively identify risks and blockers, steering resolutions through influence and structured decision-making.
  • Promote the use of best practices and standardized tools to support design operations across multiple brands and regions.

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)

  • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in design program management or related fields.
  • Proven ability to forge strategic partnerships and influence across design, product, and engineering teams.
  • Experience managing design delivery through structured methodologies such as Agile or Lean.
  • Portfolio or case studies showcasing your success in building operating models and delivering measurable outcomes.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to craft clear and compelling narratives.
  • Familiarity with project management tools like Jira, Asana, Figma, or Miro.
  • Dedication to inclusive and accessible design practices.
