The Opportunity This is a full-time position that works out of our Abbott Park, IL location in the CHR Corporate Human Resources division.

The primary function of this positionis tosupport day-to-day core benefits administration activities, including Businessolver (outsourced benefits administration vendor) case management, eligibility validation, and vendor coordination. repare accurate, complete Level 1 appeals determinations to support timely and compliant resolution. Execute operational tasks for point solution programs across dental, vision, HSA/HRA/FSA, MSK, fertility, virtual care, and other specialty vendors. Contribute to special benefits projects and support ongoing process improvements across the team.

What You’ll Work On

Manage daily Businessolver operations, including file reviews, ticket resolution, audits, and eligibility updates.

Investigate and resolve employee issues, ensuring thorough documentation and alignment with vendor partners while collaborating closely with HRTS, HRSC, Payroll, and Businessolver.

Prepare evidence packets and recommended determinations for Level 1 appeals for Senior Specialist and Manager review.

Execute recurring and scheduled operational tasks across point solution vendors while monitoring and following through on issue/defect resolution.

Maintain oversight of vendor communication inventory and ensure timely updates.

Key Responsibilities Core Benefits Administration

Perform daily case management, reconciliation, and error remediation activities.

Support configuration updates and testing to ensure system accuracy and OE readiness.

Appeals Preparation

Gather required documentation and timelines for Level 1 appeals.

Draft recommended determinations for Level 1 appeals in accordance with policy and plan provisions.

Ensure accuracy, compliance, and completeness of appeal submissions.

Point Solution Operations

Process eligibility updates, confirmations, and scheduled tasks across multiple point solution vendors.

Maintain issue logs, track follow through to resolution and elevate emerging trends as appropriate.

Open Enrollment Support

Assist with active and retiree OE preparation, testing, documentation review, issue tracking, and hyper care activities.

Communications

Maintain oversight of the vendor communication inventory, ensuring current, accurate content across platforms.

Manage periodic team reviews of benefit information across internal and external websites to confirm accuracy and alignment.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree is required.

2–4 years of experience in benefits operations, vendor support, or related HR service delivery functions.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience supporting project implementations and contributing to cross functional initiatives.

Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

Excellent analytical capability, with the ability to interpret data, identify insights, and clearly communicate the story behind the data.

Proficiency with analytical tools and platforms; advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

Strong oral and written communication skills, including professional speaking and presentation skills.

Demonstrated continuous improvement mindset, with curiosity and initiative to streamline, improve, and document processes.

Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high quality results in a fast-paced environment.

The base pay for this position is $61,300.00 – $122,700.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
