Infosys is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal – High-Tech Semiconductor Fab SME to join our team. In this role, you will serve as a deep domain authority on semiconductor fab operations. Your primary responsibility is to bring hands‑on fab knowledge, operational insight, and technical depth to client engagements, ensuring that transformation initiatives, system designs, and operating models are grounded in real‑world semiconductor manufacturing practices. Success in this position is defined by your ability to provide authoritative fab‑domain guidance, validate solutions against operational reality, and elevate delivery quality through expert insight across yield, throughput, cycle time, quality, and equipment utilization.
Required Qualifications
Candidate must be located within commuting distance of Indianapolis, IN or Raleigh, NC or Hartford, CT or be willing to relocate to the area. This position may require travel to project locations.
Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent required from an accredited institution. Will also consider three years of progressive experience in the specialty in lieu of every year of education.
11+ years of hands‑on experience in High‑Tech Semiconductor manufacturing, with deep expertise in fab operations
Direct experience in roles such as process engineering, manufacturing engineering, yield engineering, or fab operations
Strong understanding of semiconductor manufacturing systems and technologies including MES, equipment automation, APC, SPC, and data platforms
Proven ability to assess solutions and initiatives through the lens of real fab operations
Ability to communicate credibly with senior fab and manufacturing leaders
Key Responsibilities Fab Domain Expertise & Advisory
Act as the primary semiconductor fab subject matter expert across client engagements
Provide deep expertise in fab operations including process engineering, manufacturing flows, yield management, and production control
Validate requirements, designs, and solutions against real fab constraints and best practices
Advise delivery and client teams on trade‑offs impacting yield, cycle time, quality, and cost
Serve as the escalation authority for fab‑domain questions, assumptions, and risks
Manufacturing Systems & Technology Insight
Provide expert guidance on semiconductor manufacturing systems including MES, equipment automation, APC, SPC, historians, and analytics platforms
Assess how technology solutions impact fab workflows, equipment behavior, and operator interactions
Support definition of target‑state fab operating models enabled by digital and data platforms
Ensure consistency between fab processes, manufacturing systems, and data architectures
Stakeholder & Client Engagement
Engage directly with senior Fab Operations, Manufacturing Engineering, Process Engineering, and Yield leaders as a trusted domain expert
Participate in workshops, design reviews, and executive discussions to represent the fab perspective
Translate complex fab concepts into clear guidance for IT, digital, and delivery teams
Support pursuits and proposals by contributing credible semiconductor fab expertise
Knowledge Enablement & Capability Building
Mentor delivery teams on semiconductor manufacturing concepts, terminology, and constraints
Develop reusable fab‑domain assets such as process maps, reference flows, KPIs, and best‑practice playbooks
Strengthen Infosys’ semiconductor domain capability through knowledge sharing and thought leadership

Experience working with leading semiconductor manufacturers or foundries
Background in advanced‑node or high‑volume manufacturing environments

The job entails sitting as well as working at a computer for extended periods of time. Should be able to communicate by telephone, email or face to face. Travel may be required as per the job requirements.
