Portfolio Manager
The Portfolio Manager (PM) is responsible for underwriting and actively managing a portfolio of commercial loan relationships. The PM supports one or more Loan Officers throughout the loan origination process, making recommendations on appropriate credit structures and approving credit exposure within assigned authorities. The PM is additionally responsible for managing a portfolio of loans through review of financial statements, proactive monitoring, and interaction with the Loan Officer and client. The assigned portfolio may include a wide range of borrowers, industries, and deal structures, such as commercial and industrial loans, owner-occupied and investor real estate, and other business-purpose credits. The role requires independent credit judgment and the ability to identify emerging risks. The PM is expected to consistently follow all policies and procedures. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Leads the commercial underwriting process internally and externally for assigned relationships. In conjunction with teammates, applies knowledge of credit policy and structuring to develop solutions that meet client needs and Bank's policy and regulatory requirements. Negotiates and reviews loan documentation. Ensures accuracy in due diligence requests. Manages client compliance with loan agreement requirements, including covenant measurements and financial reporting. Responsible for risk rating accuracy and annual reviews. Accurately spreads financial statements and supports compliance and regulatory reviews. Manages all amendments and waivers for loans within the assigned portfolio. Manages data integrity of all inputs and outputs. Acts as a liaison with Loan Operations. Reviews and updates loan system information to ensure accuracy. Develops an independent point of view and provides recommendations to appropriate decision makers. Appropriately utilizes assigned lending authorities. Recognizes and adheres to compliance with all bank consumer regulations and laws including those for consumer protection and the Bank Secrecy Act/Anti-Money Laundering Program. Qualifications/Experience: Education:
Bachelor's degree in finance or related field. Experience:
Three or more years of related Commercial Lending experience. Preferred Requirements:
Basic knowledge of commercial, construction, real estate, and consumer loan origination, underwriting, processing, tracking and documentation, related state and federal loan regulations and other Bank lending policies. Proficient in computer operation; and spreadsheet software, specifically Microsoft Excel. Basic math skills; calculate interest, proportions, and percentages; balance accounts; add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; locate routine mathematical errors; compute rate, ratio, and percent, including the drafting and interpretation of charts and graphs.
