Own the engineering operating plan and budget; ensure the wellbeing, safety and capability of Field Engineers; and maintain full accountabilities for all Out Placed Equipment (OPE) to ensure it is safe, compliant, reliable and delivering agreed customer and business outcomes.

Develop the annual engineering budget, align with commercial plans, and manage monthly forecasting and variance analysis.

Track to budget through weekly performance reviews, cost drivers analysis, and corrective action plans with owners and due dates.

Set and enforce safety standards for all Out Placed Equipment (OPE); ensure compliance with WHS legislation and company policies via audits, risk assessments, and preventive maintenance regimes.

Ensure wellbeing and safety of all Field Engineers through workforce planning, competency management, safe work procedures, and proactive fatigue/mental health support.

Coordinate customer needs and field resources—own the scheduling and prioritisation process across accounts to meet SLAs and KPIs.

Develop and execute strategy to deliver budget outcomes (pricing, scope, service mix, productivity, inventory/spares strategy, vendor management).

Ensure all new OPE is installed, commissioned, and handed over using standard playbooks (FAT/SAT), with clear acceptance criteria and training for customer teams.

Govern reporting and data accuracy (CMMS/EAM, field reports, downtime RCA) and use insights to drive continuous improvement.

Coach and develop Account Engineers; build succession plans and technical depth across mechatronics, controls, and safety systems.

Lead customer engagement at executive and operational levels; manage escalations and ensure closed‑loop communication with design/project teams.

Engineering degree (Mechanical/Electrical/Mechatronics) or equivalent.

Significant experience in field service/maintenance leadership in an industrial machinery environment.

Proven budget ownership and financial management experience.

Demonstrated track record improving safety, reliability, and customer outcomes.

Strong project management capability and stakeholder management skills.

Postgraduate qualification (e.g., MBA) or professional certifications (PMP, CMRP, Lean Six Sigma).

Controls/PLC exposure and commissioning experience.

Advanced MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and data visualisation skills.
