Position Housing Stability Specialist (Specialist 1 / Grade 8). Salary starts at $48,600 per year.
Location Earl Boyles Elementary School, 10822 SE Bush St Portland, OR 97266
Program Multnomah Stability Initiative – provides temporary financial assistance and case management to clients at or below 50% AMI and at risk of homelessness, focusing on students at Earl Boyles Elementary School.
Responsibilities
Assess potential client program eligibility
Meet individually with clients to define, work toward and reach housing goals
Maintain case files and enter data into Multnomah County’s Service Point and IRCO ETO systems
Distribute assistance funds to landlords or utility companies
Refer clients to other sources of assistance
Provide case management services including recruitment, screening, assessment, and support
Complete case management paperwork
Attend trainings and meetings as part of the Multnomah County Stability Initiative
Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and committees to support program and agency goals
Interact with staff in other IRCO programs and community partners and refer clients
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree or some college, plus relevant experience
1–2 years of experience required
English required; bilingual in Spanish preferred
Valid driver’s license and current auto‑insurance; full use of automobile during work hours
Strong communication, case‑management approach, time‑management, and paperwork skills
Excellent organizational, grammar, analytic, and decision‑making abilities
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other software packages
Ability to work flexible hours to meet client availability; punctual and reliable
Capacity to handle distressed customers and maintain confidentiality
Physical Requirements
Routine work with regular supervision
Work in a protected environment with minimal hazards
Stable schedule; required to be seated, standing, walking, driving, and using a PC for extended periods
