MEP Estimator II

who will be responsible for gathering, calculating, and compiling data in order to produce project estimates; for smaller projects, this position will also prepare the full estimate.\nResponsibilities

Create Project Estimates\nComplete quantity takeoffs and summations of materials\nSolicit trade partners, obtain bid estimates, and time projections for preparing vendor proposal comparisons and estimate summary sheets\nHelp in preparing, organizing, and coordinating Request for Proposal documents and schedules, utilizing schedule information to estimate General Contractor''s and other schedule-driven items\nDetermine all pricing options and the appropriate price for the project\nSupport lead estimator in data input into estimating software program(s)\nPerform archive filing and historical cost data gathering\nParticipate in plan and estimate review meetings, other project review meetings, and site investigations, as needed\nSupport lead estimator in gathering information from local government and private entities that may affect project (i.e. permits, hearings, etc.)\nHelp manage Addendum log and documents from customers/clients\nProvide direction to new Estimators and Engineers as they join the team\nSolicit new bidders when needed, and gather necessary documents for inclusion in future projects\nWill provide training to other estimators and interns\nQualifications

RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead estimating efforts on large and complex projects

Provide conceptual, detailed, self-perform work estimates, and cost models

Organize, research, and strategically plan for estimate preparation, pricing, scheduling, and submission

Determine subcontractors for bidding process and final estimate pricing

Assign work to estimating team and ensure accurate information is incorporated

Conduct quantity surveys, cost estimates, and review subcontractor proposals

Research tax laws, collective bargaining agreements, and permits

Write and submit Requests for Information

Maintain regular communication with team members, owners, architects, and engineers

Ensure understanding of project scope and updates among team members and subcontractors

Research and analyze historical project data for current applications

Assist in selecting building systems and software programs

Assist in project scheduling

Lead, train, mentor, and manage estimators, including performance evaluations

QUALIFICATIONS

Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering or similar or equivalent experience

Minimum nine years construction industry experience

Six years construction estimating experience

LEED AP, DBIA professional, preferred

Organized and detailed with proven ability to fulfill all responsibilities for multiple, complex projects

Possess basic understanding of construction law and generally accepted business practices

Proven positive and professional attitude, and strong customer service skills

Strong teamwork orientation, initiative, communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills

Applicable mathematical skills

Proficient with building/estimating techniques and software: ISqFt, ICE/Bid2Win, On-Screen Takeoff (OST), Bluebeam/PDF, Google Earth

Current driver’s license
