We are seeking Key Account Manager (KAM) to support strategic initiatives within complex healthcare environments. In this highly strategic, field‑based role, you will engage key stakeholders across hospital systems, academic institutions, integrated delivery networks (IDNs), and group purchasing organizations (GPOs) to support business objectives, market access, and executional excellence. Reporting to a Regional Business Director, you will serve as a critical liaison with priority regional accounts and help shape execution within institutional channels.
Key Responsibilities
Drive business development and strategic initiatives within key academic institutions, IDNs, and GPOs by engaging appropriate prescribers, influencers, and decision‑makers.
Develop and maintain comprehensive account profiles, including decision‑making processes, stakeholder mapping, and pull‑through opportunities.
Assess the unique needs of complex institutional customers and collaborate cross‑functionally with internal partners (e.g., Managed Markets, Trade, Value Access, Contracting, Medical, HEOR, Marketing).
Engage pharmacy leadership, medical leadership, P&T committees, contracting stakeholders, service line leaders, and clinical staff to support organizational goals.
Work collaboratively with Account Managers, Regional Sales Directors, Medical Science Liaisons, and other internal colleagues to ensure coordinated account execution.
Partner with National Account Managers and Managed Markets leadership to communicate and support contracts, pricing strategies, and value‑based or economic discussions.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
10+ years pharmaceutical/biotech experience, 7+ years working with complex healthcare organizations, including academic health systems, integrated delivery networks (IDNs), and/or group purchasing organizations (GPOs).
Experience supporting contract management, account negotiations, or related commercial processes.
Working knowledge of managed care environments, including coverage and reimbursement considerations.
Proven ability to collaborate effectively across cross‑functional teams, including marketing, medical, field leadership, and market access.
Familiarity with healthcare systems and workflows, including electronic medical records (EMRs), computerized provider order entry (CPOE), and order set development.
Ability to travel extensively (50% or more), as required by the role.
The annual base salary for this position ranges from $190,000 to $220,000. The base salary range represents the anticipated low and high of the Syneos Health range for this position. Actual salary will vary based on various factors such as the candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role. In addition, some positions may include a company car or car allowance and eligibility to earn commissions/bonus based on company and/or individual performance.
