Estimator Designer

Position Summary
We are seeking a detail‑oriented and creative Landscape Estimator/Designer to join our team. This hybrid role is responsible for both the design and cost estimation of Commercial and/or luxury residential landscape projects. The ideal candidate will possess strong design skills, in‑depth plant and materials knowledge, and the ability to prepare accurate and competitive project estimates.
Key Responsibilities Design
Meet with clients to gather requirements and understand project goals.
Create conceptual and final landscape designs using CAD.
Select appropriate plantings, hardscape materials, lighting, and irrigation systems.
Develop detailed design presentations, including 2D/3D visualizations, plans, and mood boards.
Collaborate with project managers and installation teams to ensure design intent is achieved during execution.
Estimating
Analyze design plans and specifications to prepare accurate material and labor cost estimates.
Solicit quotes from vendors and subcontractors for materials and services.
Prepare and submit professional bid packages and proposals.
Track project budgets, change orders, and ensure estimates align with actual costs.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Landscape Architecture, Horticulture, or related field preferred; or equivalent experience.
2–5+ years of experience in landscape design and/or estimating.
Proficient in landscape design software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel in particular).
Strong knowledge of local plant species, horticultural practices, grading, drainage, and construction methods.
Excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Preferred Skills (Not Required)
Knowledge of local zoning and permitting requirements.
Experience with sustainability or native plant design.
Familiarity with CRM or project management software.
Working Conditions
Office-based with regular field visits to project sites and client locations.
May require occasional evening or weekend meetings depending on client schedules.
