Ecommerce Associate
Trade Coffee Co., New York, NY, United States
About Trade
Trade is changing the way people discover and enjoy specialty coffee at home. We’ve built the country’s largest marketplace of exceptional, independent roasters, pairing deep coffee expertise with smart personalization to help hundreds of thousands of customers find coffees they genuinely love.
Our platform connects people to 500+ freshly roasted coffees from 55+ of America’s best roasters, delivered straight to their door. By making discovery easy and fun, we’re opening up the world of specialty coffee to more people, while helping small, independent roasters scale and thrive. As we grow, we’re building more than a marketplace. We’re creating a category-defining destination for people who care deeply about what they drink every day.
About the Role Trade is seeking a highly motivated Ecommerce Associate to help operate, improve, and scale the digital experience across our site.
Reporting to the Ecommerce Manager, you’ll play a key role in running the day-to-day ecommerce engine while helping the team move quickly on experimentation and growth initiatives. This role combines operational ownership with analytical thinking, making it ideal for someone who enjoys both executing and improving systems.
You’ll work closely with teams across merchandising, marketing, lifecycle, and product to ensure the site reflects our campaigns, launches, and merchandising priorities. You’ll also help implement and monitor experiments that improve conversion, increase revenue per visitor, and strengthen the customer experience. Your work will directly contribute to improving key ecommerce metrics such as conversion rate, revenue per visitor, and product performance.
This role is designed as a growth path into broader ecommerce ownership as the company scales, making it a strong opportunity for someone looking to deepen their ecommerce expertise and take on increasing responsibility over time.
What We're Looking For
Own day-to-day ecommerce execution — partnering with marketing, lifecycle, product, and merchandising teams to coordinate site updates, new product launches, seasonal campaigns, and promotional moments that reflect current campaign priorities and the broader content calendar.
Support the organization and presentation of products across collections, featured placements, and merchandising modules to create an intuitive and engaging shopping experience.
Help maintain product taxonomy, tagging, and categorization to support merchandising, product discovery, and site navigation.
Run QA on onsite updates and manage weekly processes to identify unexpected site changes.
Support the execution of ecommerce experiments, including homepage tests, funnel optimizations, and pricing experiments.
Monitor site performance and report on key ecommerce metrics such as conversion rate, AOV, and product performance.
Observe customer behavior signals such as product engagement, click-through rates, and browsing patterns to surface opportunities to improve site performance.
Identify opportunities to improve site organization, merchandising, and operational workflows that enhance the customer experience, and help coordinate solutions.
Who You Are A proactive operator who enjoys translating plans into execution and seeing projects through to completion. Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail, and able to move fast without sacrificing quality. Comfortable balancing structured execution with problem solving and process improvement. Analytical and curious about what drives ecommerce performance — interested in both the data behind decisions and how those decisions play out in business outcomes. Confident working cross-functionally with marketing, product, and operations teams. Excited to work in a fast‑paced startup environment where priorities evolve quickly and there are opportunities to own meaningful work.
Required Experience
1–3 years of experience in ecommerce, digital merchandising, or site operations for a consumer-facing brand.
Hands‑on experience working in Shopify or similar ecommerce platforms.
Experience executing or supporting onsite merchandising updates, product launches, or campaign rollouts.
Strong attention to detail and comfort managing complex site updates.
Proficiency with Excel or Google Sheets for reporting and analysis.
Experience working with ecommerce analytics tools, such as Looker or similar platforms.
Experience collaborating with merchandising, marketing, product, or lifecycle teams to execute campaigns or site updates.
Comfort working in a fast‑paced startup or growth‑stage environment.
Nice to Have
Experience supporting ecommerce experimentation or A/B testing programs.
Familiarity with ecommerce tools such as Shopify apps, or experimentation platforms.
Interest in consumer marketplaces, subscription businesses, or product discovery experiences.
