
Summer Intern Neuropsychiatry at Johnson & Johnson

Johnson & Johnson invites a highly motivated undergraduate student to join the Neuroscience Discovery group in San Diego, CA, for a 10‑12 week Summer Intern position in 2026. The role involves planning, executing, and reporting in vitro experiments to characterize rodent and human induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC) models of neuropsychiatric diseases as part of our neuropsychiatry portfolio.
Responsibilities
- Conduct and interpret in vitro experiments to characterize rodent and human iPSC‑derived models of neuropsychiatric diseases.
- Contribute to internal meetings and present results.
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting and documentation of results in accordance with company guidelines.
- Consistently adhere to all company compliance guidelines and policies.
Qualifications
- Enrolled in an accredited university or college pursuing a degree in psychology, neuroscience, or a related field.
- Permanently authorized to work in the U.S., available during the summer of 2026, and able to work on‑site full time in La Jolla, CA.
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a team.
- Strong strategic thinking and plan execution skills.
- Preferable hands‑on experience with cell culture and imaging techniques.
- Good analytical, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and excellent oral and written communication.
- Minimum GPA of 2.8 strongly preferred.
Compensation & Benefits
Pay range: $26.50 – $59.00 per hour, based on program year, discipline, degree, and experience. Interns and co‑ops are eligible for company‑sponsored medical benefits, up to 40 hours of sick time per year (or up to 56 hours for Washington residents), and participation in the company’s consolidated retirement plan (pension).
