
Director of Ecommerce

Our client, a contemporary women’s apparel brand known for effortless California style and polished everyday dressing, is seeking a strategic and hands‑on Director of Ecommerce to lead its direct‑to‑consumer digital business. This role is onsite 5 days, near Downtown Los Angeles.
This role oversees both the strategic direction and daily operations of the Shopify site and dropship partnerships. The Director of Ecommerce will drive digital growth, optimize the customer journey, and partner closely with marketing, merchandising, creative, and operations teams to ensure a strong and seamless online experience.
This role reports to the Operations and Marketing Lead and is based onsite five days per week.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and lead ecommerce growth strategy including revenue targets, acquisition, retention, and channel expansion
- Optimize the customer journey from discovery through post‑purchase
- Own ecommerce P&L including forecasting, budgeting, and KPI reporting
- Oversee daily operations of the Shopify site including product launches, merchandising, and markdowns
- Maintain inventory accuracy between A2000 and Shopify
- Manage returns through Loop and oversee customer service coordination
- Maintain the ecommerce merchandising calendar including launches, promotions, and markdowns
- Manage homepage updates, merchandising stories, and site content
- Partner with developers on site improvements and technical needs
Digital Marketing
- Lead digital marketing strategy across email/SMS (Klaviyo), paid and organic social, paid search, and influencer partnerships
- Develop retention initiatives including lifecycle marketing and segmentation
- Manage digital marketing budgets and agency relationships
- Manage dropship partnerships through DSCO and maintain product alignment with the ecommerce calendar
Analytics & Reporting
- Track ecommerce performance and deliver regular reporting using Shopify and Google Analytics
Operations & Collaboration
- Establish ecommerce processes and collaborate with merchandising, shipping, EDI, and creative teams
- Build and lead the ecommerce team as the DTC channel grows
- Manage freelancers and agency partners
Requirements
- 7+ years of ecommerce experience with 3+ years in a senior or director role within fashion or apparel
- Proven experience scaling DTC ecommerce businesses
- Strong Shopify expertise required; experience with DSCO, Klaviyo, Loop, and A2000 preferred
- Strong Excel and analytics skills including Google Analytics
- Experience managing digital marketing channels and agency partners
- Familiarity with ecommerce P&L and inventory management
