
Senior Director Project Management-Utilities

Summary of Position
The Senior Director of Project Management provides strategic leadership and oversight for the planning, execution, and financial performance of large-scale and complex utility services projects and programs at Osmose. This role is accountable for portfolio-level governance, customer engagement, and alignment across operations, engineering, delivery, and business development teams.
The Senior Director ensures projects and programs under their portfolio are delivered safely, with a high quality standard, within contractual scope, schedule, and budget (REV$ and GM$), while meeting or exceeding customer expectations. This role also leads, mentors, and develops subordinate project management leaders and contributes to enterprise-wide project management standards, controls, and continuous improvement initiatives along with their peer Directors of Project Management.
Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership for a portfolio of large or complex utility services projects and programs.
- Partner with Osmose Operations and Business Development leadership to plan, organize, and direct project activities for the benefit of Osmose customers that effectively and efficiently convert Osmose project backlog into Revenue and Margin for Osmose.
- Establish project objectives, policies, procedures, and performance standards aligned with company policy, established Project Management KPIs, and contractual scope.
- Serve as executive sponsor and lead representative in customer-facing project and strategy meetings.
- Ensure projects are led and delivered on schedule, within customer budgets, at the estimated costs or lower, and at estimated revenue or higher, through leadership, strong governance, performance monitoring, and proactive corrective action.
- Lead portfolio and program reviews focused on financial performance, delivery risk, and customer outcomes.
- Oversee and lead project financial management including forecasting, budgeting, variance analysis, and proactive corrective actions.
- Collaborate with contract administration to manage contractual and financial risk while maintaining strong customer relationships.
- Review and approve project reporting related to project progress such as safety, quality, cost, schedule, REV$, GM$ productivity, and risk.
- Identify, track, and resolve project risks and issues, in partnership with other functions, throughout the project lifecycle.
- Ensure adherence to Osmose project management standards, methodologies, and governance processes.
- Lead, mentor, and develop project managers and directors; manage multiple direct reports.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or a technical discipline preferred (Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or related field).
- 10+ years of progressive project management experience, including leadership of large or complex programs.
- Demonstrated experience managing project portfolios with significant financial accountability.
- Strong proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Expertise in project cost accounting, including revenue tracking, cost of goods, accruals, and invoicing.
- Proven ability to lead and collaborate across multiple operational and engineering teams.
- Strong executive communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Excellent analytical, financial, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Willingness to work varied hours as needed to meet business objectives.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience within the utility or utility services industry.
- PMP / PMI certification or equivalent project management credential.

The employee regularly communicates verbally and in writing, and may be required to stand, walk, sit, and use hands to handle materials. Vision requirements include close and distance vision and the ability to adjust focus. Ability to lift up to 10 pounds.
Work Environment
This position operates primarily in an office environment. Noise levels are generally moderate but may vary across company locations.
Travel
Moderate travel required (40-50%), including occasional overnight travel.
