Airbotics Talent are partnered with an emerging UAV and robotics company developing high specification aerial robotics platforms designed for defense, public safety and national security missions.

As the organisation enters its next stage of commercial growth, they are appointing a Sales Director to build and lead the company’s commercial function while working directly with operational users across defense, public safety and federal government markets.

This is a full-time position based in Cincinnati, Ohio, requiring candidates to be based within a commutable distance of their Head Office but hybrid work and travel to customers is expected. Relocation support may be available for the right candidate.

The Role

This position will take ownership of the full sales lifecycle across defense, government and public safety customers. You will engage directly with operational stakeholders including police departments, fire services, search and rescue teams and federal agencies, helping introduce new aerial capabilities into real-world mission environments.

The role combines business development leadership with hands‑on engagement in demonstrations, evaluations and customer adoption. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys building commercial infrastructure in an early‑stage environment and wants to play a central role in scaling a next‑generation aerospace platform.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead commercial engagement across public safety and government markets
  • Develop relationships with law enforcement, emergency response and federal agencies
  • Manage opportunities from initial engagement through quotation and order completion
  • Deliver product demonstrations and support field evaluations with operational users
  • Develop distribution relationships and channel partnerships
  • Represent the organisation at relevant industry events and conferences
  • Collaborate closely with engineering teams to incorporate operational feedback into product development
  • Build pipeline visibility and establish scalable sales processes as the company grows
  • Recruit and develop additional sales capability as commercial activity expands

The Person

This role requires experience selling technology or equipment into government, defence or public safety organisations.

Candidates must be comfortable working directly with operational users in field environments and managing complex customer relationships.

The ideal candidate will bring:

  • 5+ years of experience in sales, business development or government account management
  • Experience working with law enforcement, defence, or public safety customers
  • Strong relationship development and communication skills
  • Comfort delivering field demonstrations and technical product briefings
  • Ability to travel regularly to support customer engagement and industry events
  • Interest in drones, robotics or advanced aerospace technologies
  • Military, law enforcement or public safety backgrounds are highly valued
