With 500+ research professionals, BI provides company, credit, industry and strategy research across major global markets, covering 135+ industries and 2,000+ companies, including perspectives on company fundamentals as well as government policy, litigation and ESG. Our research and datasets are delivered through curated Terminal dashboards and interactive research decks, with underlying data typically one click away, drawing on proprietary Bloomberg sources and 600+ data contributors.
Which structural shifts will reshape markets over the next decade-and how should investors position for them?
Bloomberg Intelligence is hiring a Thematic Strategist to lead its global thematic research.
This role focuses on identifying and developing long-term investment themes across areas such as artificial intelligence, energy transition, supply chain realignment and demographic change. The work combines data analysis with clear, well-structured research, delivered through the Bloomberg Terminal.
The position sits across asset classes and sectors, connecting insights from equity, credit and macro research into a consistent view. It also plays a visible role with clients, helping explain how large-scale trends translate into investment risks and opportunities.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Set the direction for thematic research, including recurring reports and targeted deep dives
Identify emerging trends early and develop them into actionable investment frameworks
Work with equity, credit and macro teams to build a consistent cross-market perspective
Partner with data, product and index teams to create new datasets and analytical tools
Engage with clients through meetings, presentations and media appearances
Lead and develop a team, supporting the growth of the thematic research platform
THE PROFILE
Writes clearly and explains complex ideas in a straightforward way
Connects data points across sectors, regions and asset classes
Brings a point of view on how long-term trends affect markets
Builds strong working relationships across teams and with investors
Has experience leading projects or developing new research areas
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
At least 5 years of experience as an investment strategist (equities, sectors or thematic)
Experience publishing research used by institutional investors
Background in a sell-side firm, research provider or buy-side institution
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics or a related field (advanced degree or CFA is a plus)
Strong understanding of global markets and asset class dynamics
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Clear writing and presentation skills
Experience working with data (Excel, Python, R or similar tools)
Familiarity with building or contributing to research products or frameworks
Comfortable engaging with clients, including senior investors
Experience with the Bloomberg Terminal
Familiarity with equity indices and large datasets
Experience working across both fundamental and macro research

Salary Range = 215000 - 285000 USD Annually + Benefits + Bonus
The referenced salary range is based on the Company's good faith belief at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as geographic location, work experience, market conditions, education/training and skill level.
