
Senior Data Analyst,-Strategic Pricing and Value Realization

This position works cross-functionally across Marketing/Sales, Finance, Engineering, Operations, and Supply Chain to optimize pricing programs for Generac's industrial generator and energy technology portfolio. Leads enterprise pricing support for product/channel pricing programs (including national accounts, distributors/dealers, OEM, service parts, and project/RFP-based opportunities) to ensure market competitiveness and customer/product profitability. Owns key elements of the pricing process and actively manages or participates in cross-functional projects aligned to Generac's strategic initiatives.
Major Responsibilities:
Lead analysis and recommendations on viability of proposed pricing actions related to list price, net price, promotions, rebates, and trade discounts across residential and industrial channels of distribution.
Lead line reviews and price-positioning assessments for assigned residential and industrial product categories (including configured generator options) and associated service parts/accessories.
Execute enterprise pricing strategy and support systems by channel and category across the organization, its subsidiaries, and international markets, ensuring alignment with governance and Delegation of Authority requirements.
Develop, communicate, and maintain qualitative and quantitative pricing tools/analytics (e.g., price waterfall, margin bridge, cost-to-serve, and elasticity/segmentation where applicable) to support strategy and decision-making.
Proactively monitor customer profitability, product cost structures, and gross margin performance; perform data mining, aggregation, and analysis to identify price improvement opportunities and margin leakage.
Support strategic and national/global account projects and project-based quoting/RFP activity by developing pricing models, scenario/sensitivity analyses, and defensible recommendations.
Monitor competitive environment and develop strategic pricing responses informed by market intelligence and internal performance data.
Drive continuous improvement of pricing processes (e.g., price change workflow, system controls, and data quality remediation) and lead implementation through cross-functional coordination.
Partner with Finance, Sales, Operations, Engineering, and Supply Chain to evaluate cost trends, pricing trends, and customer communication plans; ensure pricing actions are executed accurately in ERP/pricing tools.
Provide inputs to Legal for contract language around pricing/business terms and support documentation requirements for audits and compliance.

Minimum Job Requirements:
Education
Bachelor's degree in business, finance, economics, engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
Work Experience:
5+ years of experience in pricing, finance, or data analysis including analyzing pricing models and recommending pricing actions.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:
Ability to think, analyze, and report on diverse business segments and product portfolios.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and strong working knowledge of PowerPoint and Word; ability to use BI tools such as Power BI.
Experience working with ERP and pricing master data (SAP preferred) and comfort extracting/manipulating raw data into actionable insights.
Strong financial acumen including P&L, gross and net margin, operating income, and KPI management; ability to build break-even/uplift analyses and scenario models.
Understanding of pricing levers including discounting, rebates, trade programs, and go-to-market strategies; ability to evaluate commercial terms and price waterfalls.
Ability to influence without direct authority and work effectively with all levels of the organization; strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
