Position Description: Gin Accounting Specialist About PCCA:

PCCA is a marketing cooperative owned by farmers in Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, and New Mexico dedicated to supplying sustainably-grown, high-quality cotton fiber around the world. PCCA also owns cotton warehouse facilities in Texas, Oklahoma, and Kansas. In addition to cotton marketing and warehousing services, PCCA provides innovative technology solutions to gins that help add more value to our grower-owners' cotton. Position Purpose:

To assist in maintaining and enhancing the functions and objectives of the Gin Accounting Department of Plains Cotton Cooperative Association. This position includes the primary responsibility of assisting gin customers and grower-owners with the proper and efficient use of PCCA's Gin Services, Gin Accounting, Gin Point-of-Sale, and Cooperative Gin Patronage systems. This position provides an excellent opportunity for individuals to grow and be exposed to all areas throughout the cotton industry. Position Responsibilities: Train and support cooperative bookkeepers using PCCA's Gin Accounting software and other gin-related systems. Assist cooperative bookkeepers essential accounting functions, including, but not limited to, general ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, banking, inventory/point of sale, and financial statements. Support initial marketing of cotton through Module Tracking and Scale Ticket operations. Collaborate with team members within Member Services and throughout PCCA to help deliver and develop current services and innovative solutions. Maintain open two-way communication with gin auditing firms. Support and maintain PCCA's Gin Patronage systems, including, but not limited to, dividend allocations, equity issuance and retirement, rebates, and 199A allocations. Support and communicate PCCA's services to its members and local cooperatives. Actively promote PCCA and the cooperative system. Position Requirements: Bachelor's degree (preferably in accounting, finance, or ag-related studies) or equivalent A firm understanding and familiarity with office and mobile technology Strong understanding of proper financial statement presentation Practical and analytical problem-solving skills Ability to collaborate but also work independently Strong oral and written communication Detail-oriented Some travel is required PCCA is an equal opportunity employer that operates under federal laws and state regulations requiring that there be no discrimination in its employment practices.
