About the Role
The Business Development Director will drive growth within the decentralized water and wastewater treatment market. This role is ideal for a commercially minded leader who understands packaged plants, modular treatment systems, municipal/industrial sales, and long‑term service contracts. You will shape market strategy, engage infrastructure decision‑makers, and expand the company’s footprint across North America.
Responsibilities
- Lead business development strategy for decentralized water/wastewater treatment solutions.
- Identify, pursue, and close opportunities across municipal and industrial markets.
- Build relationships with engineering firms, utilities, industrial clients, and public sector stakeholders.
- Partner with internal engineering and operations teams to structure proposals, pricing, and long‑term service agreements.
- Track market trends, competitive intelligence, and emerging technology needs.
- Represent the organization at industry events, conferences, and regulatory discussions.
- Drive revenue growth and support expansion of the company’s Water‑as‑a‑Service–style model.
- Responsible for the overall management of the BD team.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of business development, sales, or commercial leadership experience in water, wastewater, environmental services, or industrial infrastructure.
- Strong understanding of packaged treatment plants, decentralized systems, treatment technologies, or water project delivery models.
- Experience selling into municipalities, industrial clients, or EPC/engineering partners.
- Ability to manage long sales cycles, complex bids, and capital projects.
- Strong communication and relationship‑building skills with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
- A self‑starter mindset with the ability to work autonomously in a growth‑oriented environment.
- Minimum 5yrs experience leading and managing a technical sales team.
