Overview
Catholic Charities of Buffalo is seeking a full‑time Director of Information Technology to provide strategic leadership, operational oversight, and continuous improvement of the agency’s IT environment. This role ensures that all technology systems, infrastructure, cybersecurity, and support services effectively enable program delivery across the organization.

Job Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership for the agency’s IT vision, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities and mission.
- Establish and maintain IT governance structures, policies, and standards.
- Advise executive leadership on technology risks, opportunities, system upgrades, and long‑term planning.
- Oversee daily IT operations, including networks, servers, cloud services (Azure/Microsoft 365), telecommunications, hardware/software, and end‑user support.
- Manage the IT operating and capital budgets and ensure cost‑effective procurement of technology solutions.
- Serve as the Agency’s HIPAA Security Officer and maintain a robust cybersecurity framework including risk assessments, monitoring, threat detection, and incident response.
- Lead, mentor, and develop IT team members; establish clear performance expectations and support professional growth.
- Foster a service‑oriented, trauma‑informed culture centered on collaboration and accountability.
- Maintain documentation, reduce single points of failure, and ensure cross‑training across IT roles.
- Design, manage, and test disaster recovery and data backup procedures.
- Oversee IT project portfolio and ensure all projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
- Manage vendor relationships, contracts, licensing, and service level agreements (SLAs).
- Ensure compliance with the Agency’s Compliance Program, Code of Ethics, federal and state regulations, confidentiality laws, and all IT‑related security standards.
- Support internal stakeholders with technical guidance and participate in organizational initiatives.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field strongly preferred.
- Master’s degree in a related field a plus.
- Relevant technical and professional certifications preferred (e.g., PMP, CGEIT, CISM, CISSP, Azure Solutions Architect Expert).
- 7‑10+ years of progressive IT experience, including supervisory/leadership responsibilities.
- Professional experience with Azure / Microsoft 365 environments required .
- Demonstrated IT budget management experience.
- Strong experience in networking and network security preferred.
- Technology project management experience strongly preferred.
- Experience with EMRs, HRIS, and other enterprise systems a plus.
- Experience in nonprofit, healthcare, or human services environments preferred.
