Job Title: Director of Ecommerce, Marketplace
Overview
We are seeking a strategic and hands‑on Director of Ecommerce, Marketplace to build and lead our marketplace business across key global platforms including Amazon, Target, Walmart, Farfetch, and other priority retail partners.
This is a high‑impact role responsible for defining marketplace strategy, driving revenue growth, and building the infrastructure needed to scale the channel. The ideal candidate is both strategic and execution‑oriented, with experience owning marketplace P&Ls and launching or expanding businesses across multiple platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Own marketplace strategy and P&L across all third‑party platforms, driving revenue growth, profitability, and brand positioning
- Build and execute a holistic marketplace roadmap across platforms including Amazon, Target, Walmart, Farfetch, and emerging partners
- Identify and onboard new marketplace opportunities, expanding distribution while maintaining brand integrity
- Develop and optimize assortment strategy, pricing architecture, and promotional calendars specific to each platform
- Lead forecasting, inventory planning, and demand management in partnership with merchandising and operations teams
- Drive performance marketing and on‑platform optimization, including SEO, paid media, content, and conversion improvements
- Establish best‑in‑class reporting and analytics, leveraging data to inform decision‑making and growth strategies
- Build and scale the marketplace function, managing one direct report and laying the foundation for future team growth
- Act as a key cross‑functional partner to marketing, merchandising, operations, and finance, ensuring alignment across channels
Qualifications
- 7–10+ years of experience in ecommerce and/or marketplace management, preferably within consumer, fashion, or lifestyle brands
- Proven track record managing and scaling businesses on Amazon and other major marketplaces (e.g., Walmart, Target, Farfetch)
- Strong strategic mindset with the ability to also execute tactically in a lean environment
- Experience owning or influencing P&L, forecasting, and inventory planning
- Deep understanding of marketplace dynamics, including pricing, content optimization, and performance drivers
- Analytical and data‑driven, with experience using Excel and reporting tools to drive insights
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with experience working cross‑functionally and presenting to senior leadership
