Director - Private Equity Portfolio Valuation

Boutique Private Equity firm headquartered in Boston, MA is hiring for this add-to-staff opening on their Portfolio Management team. This role will report to their Head of Portfolio, and will be responsible fore a wide scope, detailed below.

This is a great opportunity for an individual coming out of a similar role with a larger firm, who is looking to add more breadth to their experience, somebody currently working for an Advisory firm with strong PE Valuations / M&A experience looking to pivot internally, or an individual with a background in Investment Banking / Corporate Business Development who may be interested in joining a PE firm.

Responsibilities

  • Technical work including management of valuation models / fund models, liquidity planning, and quantitative portfolio analysis
  • Business partner to a variety of both internal an external parties, related to firm holdings and new investments
  • Serve as right-hand to the Head of Portfolio, and key business partner with Investor Relations team
  • Preparation of all quarterly, annual, and required valuations for all firm investments
  • Ad hoc projects including process improvement, implementation of new tools / systems, etc
  • Partner with Audit / Compliance / Risk teams for required information and reporting
  • Participate and provide required information for valuation committee meetings

Requirements

  • 5-10 years of related experience in Private Equity Portfolio Valuations (either internal, or for an Advisory firm), or a background in Investment Banking / Corporate Business Development
  • MBA is a plus
  • Career-minded, strong work-ethic
  • Interest and ability to work in a role with a wide scope
  • Must be able to communicate with internal and external business partners
