Job Description: Brand Art Director
The Art Director will own and evolve the brand’s visual expression across all channels. This leader will translate brand strategy and creative vision into compelling, cohesive visual systems that drive connection and growth.
Role Overview
Partnering closely with the Cofounder & Creative Director and Head of Brand Marketing, the Art Director will lead concept development, campaign design, and creative execution. They will guide designers, creative producers, our copywriter and external freelance creatives to deliver elevated, consistent, and culturally relevant work. This role requires both strong creative instincts and the ability to execute at scale in a fast-moving, high-growth environment.
Key Responsibilities
Creative Direction & Brand Identity
- Own and evolve the brand’s visual identity across digital, retail, packaging, campaigns, and social.
- Develop seasonal and campaign-level creative concepts from ideation through final execution.
- Translate high-level brand vision into clear visual direction and creative systems.
- Maintain consistency in typography, color, photography style, composition, and overall aesthetic.
Team Leadership
- Lead and mentor designers and visual creatives.
- Provide clear art direction and feedback that raises the overall creative bar.
- Collaborate closely with copywriters and marketing partners to ensure cohesive storytelling.
- Manage freelance photographers, stylists, editors, and production partners as needed.
Cross-Functional Partnership
- Partner with Marketing, E-commerce, and Merchandising to support product launches and growth initiatives.
- Align creative direction with business objectives while protecting brand equity.
- Support performance marketing with elevated creative that drives conversion without sacrificing brand standards.
Quality & Execution
- Review and approve creative work prior to stakeholder presentations.
- Ensure all deliverables meet brand standards and production quality expectations.
- Continuously elevate the brand’s visual presence as the company scales.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in art direction or creative leadership, ideally within a consumer brand or DTC environment.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating brand systems, campaigns, and photoshoot direction.
- Deep understanding of visual storytelling, typography, layout, and design systems.
- Experience leading photo and video production from concept through post-production.
- Proven ability to manage and mentor creative talent.
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple campaigns simultaneously.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and creative workflow tools.
Salary $150,000 + Bonus
