In March 2026, Carbyne officially joined forces with Axon, marking a major step forward for emergency communications. United by a shared mission to Protect Life, Carbyne and Axon are modernizing 911 by improving how critical data reaches call centers. Together, we enable faster, more informed responses by equipping emergency call centers with real‑time video, silent chat, precise location tracking, and other essential tools—bringing life‑saving information to the right people at exactly the right time.
Your Impact
We are building the financial foundation to scale next‑generation emergency response technology. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer of Carbyne, this role acts as a strategic finance leader, owning financial models, guiding investment decisions, and helping shape the future of the Axon 911 business.
The Director of Strategic Finance will serve as a key partner to leadership, translating business strategy into financial insight that drives smarter decisions across the organization.
Build and own financial models that guide strategic decision‑making across the Axon 911 business.
Partner closely with functional leaders to analyze performance, evaluate investments, and drive ROI‑focused decision making.
Translate complex data and operational insights into clear financial recommendations for executives.
Support strategic initiatives including long‑term planning and market analysis.
Collaborate cross‑functionally with accounting, corporate development, and go‑to‑market teams to align financial strategy with business priorities.
Help move the organization toward a more data‑informed, ROI‑driven operating model.
Partner with Product to influence and guide pricing strategy.
Evaluate new business opportunities, including new markets and adjacent TAM expansion analysis.
What You’ll Do
- Strong background in strategic finance, investment banking, or corporate development.
- Advanced financial modeling expertise and ability to synthesize complex financial data into business insights.
- Experience working in high‑growth technology or SaaS environments.
- Comfortable influencing executive‑level stakeholders and cross‑functional leaders.
- Demonstrated ability to operate in ambiguous environments and translate strategy into operational plans.
- Both analytical and entrepreneurial—build structure while navigating the fast pace of a scaling company.
Work Location
This role is a hybrid role within the United States, with up to 60% travel for customer meetings, training sessions, and industry events.

Pay Transparency
Axon offers a comprehensive total compensation package, which includes base salary, a generous annual bonus, and company equity.
The starting base annual pay for this role is between $200,000–$226,000 excluding commission, bonuses, and more annually, depending on your geographic market. The actual base salary will vary based on several factors, including level, function, training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs, and location—often a combination of these elements.
