
Director, Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A)

We are seeking a highly experienced Director of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) to lead our corporate planning, forecasting, and performance reporting activities while partnering closely with Investor Relations and driving major finance systems initiatives.
This role plays a critical part in connecting scientific, clinical, and commercial progress with financial performance, ensuring accurate internal insights and high‑quality external communication to the market. This role is office based.
Overview of key responsibilities
- Lead company‑wide budgeting, forecasting, and long‑range planning across R&D, clinical programs, tech ops, and commercial.
- Partner with functional leaders to translate scientific and operational plans into financial forecasts and performance reporting.
- Deliver monthly and quarterly management reporting, including P&L, cash flow, and KPI dashboards.
- Provide insights and strategic recommendations to executive leadership on growth, margins, capital allocation, and productivity.
- Maintain robust models for scenario planning, pipeline prioritisation, and cash runway analysis.
- Prepare materials for the ELT and Board, including KPIs, dashboards, and strategic options analyses.
- Enhance FP&A processes, governance, and tools appropriate for a scaling biotech.
Investor Relations Support
- Partner with the CFO and Head of IR to develop earnings guidance, financial narratives, and valuation‑driven messaging.
- Support investor engagement, meetings, and communications, acting as a key point of contact for US investors.
- Prepare financial content for earnings scripts, Q&A, investor presentations, and R&D days.
- Validate financial and operating data for all external communications to ensure accuracy and alignment with disclosures.
- Maintain peer‑benchmarking frameworks and analytical models that support guidance and positioning.
Finance Systems & Technology
- Act as business owner for key finance and performance‑management systems (ERP, EPM/CPM, BI/analytics tools).
- Define business requirements and partner with IT to deliver scalable reporting and analytics solutions.
- Lead finance transformation initiatives including automation, standardization, AI tools, and integrated dashboards.
- Build business cases for technology investments and track benefits realization.
- Promote a data‑driven culture across R&D, Clinical Operations, Manufacturing, and Commercial.
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field; MBA, CPA, or CFA preferred.
- 15+ years’ experience in FP&A or corporate finance within the pharmaceutical/biotech industry.
- Experience with public‑company investor relations processes preferred.
- Proven experience leading finance/enterprise technology initiatives (ERP, BI, reporting automation).
- Advanced modelling and analytical skills; expert Excel and strong PowerPoint capabilities.
- Familiarity with modern planning and reporting platforms.
- Strong leadership skills with a track record of building high‑performing teams.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of partnering at all levels including C‑suite and Board.
- Comfort operating in a fast‑paced, evolving environment.
