We are seeking a bold, strategic, and relationship-driven Development Director to join the National Leadership Team. This is a high-impact, enterprise-wide leadership role responsible for:
- Coordinating and evaluating national revenue generation strategy
- Partnering closely with the President & CEO on institutional funding strategy
- Leading and mentoring the Development team
- Managing a portfolio of high-net-worth donors and national funders

- Align fundraising efforts with the organization’s overarching national vision.
- Develop and manage the Development team’s annual budget.
- Establish annual goals and revenue targets across restricted, unrestricted, capital, and endowment funding.
- Oversee integrated workflows and infrastructure that strengthen revenue performance and donor experience.
- Monitor philanthropic trends and economic conditions impacting sustainability.
Donor & Institutional Partnerships
- Identify, cultivate, and secure six- and seven-figure commitments from foundations, corporations, and high-net-worth individuals.
- Manage grant prospecting, submissions, reporting, and stewardship.
- Collaborate with program leaders to align funding strategies with programmatic priorities.
- Prepare proposals, concept papers, donor presentations, and executive briefing materials.
- Strengthen stewardship and donor recognition programs nationally and regionally.
Leadership & Team Development
- Supervise and mentor Development staff.
- Foster a high-performing, collaborative culture rooted in organizational values.
- Provide professional development and support to State and Regional Directors for fund development.
- Lead cross-functional coordination across business units and national leadership.
Required Experience
- 7+ years of nonprofit fundraising leadership experience
- Demonstrated success securing six- and seven-figure institutional or individual gifts
- Experience developing and executing national funding strategy
- Strong supervision and mentorship experience
- Exceptional proposal and professional writing skills
- Proficiency with Office 365 and CRM systems (Raiser’s Edge, Salesforce, RE NXT, Foundations Online preferred)
