JOB TITLE:
Development Director
NATURE OF WORK:
This full-time position will assist the Executive Director by overseeing grant management, funding strategies, and coordinating fundraising and volunteer support under the umbrella of Nome Community Center.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Seek out new grant opportunities, write grant proposals, and assist with compliance of awarded grants
Design, direct, and implement annual fundraising events and projects
Research and make formal inquiries for private and public funding sources
Provide input and support in the development of business plans and budgets
Collaborate with staff on marketing plan
Provide oversight and communication for volunteer groups
Develop and oversee donor relations and recognition and manage donor database
Establish passive funding sources that align with NCC’s mission
Assist with project management for capital projects as needed or developed
Other duties as assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
High school graduate. College degree preferred
Solid writing and budgeting skills
High level computer operation skills including word processing, spreadsheets and other business programs using both Mac and PC
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and accept responsibility as assigned
Ability to work collaboratively with staff, to meet the public, and to render service cordially
Ability to maintain confidentiality as it pertains to agency and staff
Profound and deep-felt respect and compassion for all people
Experience with grant writing for private, state, and federal funding
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
A degree is desired with experience in grant writing or a related field preferred
Experience in fundraising and event planning
Ability to work alone with minimum supervision
Understanding of and ability to work in a cross-cultural environment
Knowledge of social issues related to the Nome region, especially pertaining to Nome Community Center’s programs, including homelessness, food insecurity, financial insecurities, drug addiction, marginalization, etc.
Criminal background clearance required

SALARY AND BENEFITS: Salary Range:
$62,400.00 - $72,800.00 DOE
Exempt:
from the FSLA overtime requirement
