
National Account Manager

You are a strategic market access leader who knows how to clear the way, navigate complexity, and serve as a trusted liaison across a highly matrixed organization.
In this role, you will develop and execute national and managed care strategies to secure and sustain product access across Group Purchasing Organizations (GPOs), Integrated Delivery Networks (IDNs), commercial payers, and managed care channels. You will build long-term, profitable partnerships while maximizing coverage, reimbursement, and patient access within hospital and health system settings.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement national and managed care strategies to ensure appropriate product access, coverage, and reimbursement
Lead direct engagement with Group Purchasing Organizations (GPOs) and their affiliated regional and IDN subgroups
Own GPO strategy, negotiations, and ongoing relationship management, including contracting, compliance, and performance tracking
Manage assigned national accounts across all market access channels, including Commercial and Managed Care Payers, Trade Accounts, GPOs, and affiliated IDNs
Develop and execute coverage and reimbursement strategies that secure favorable formulary status and expand patient access within hospital and health system environments
Partner cross-functionally with Sales Representatives, Regional Business Directors, Market Access, Medical Affairs, Field Reimbursement, and HUB services to ensure pull-through and execution
Qualifications & Experience
10+ years of pharmaceutical and/or biotech industry experience
10+ years of direct experience managing large national accounts, including payers, PBMs, and GPOs including contract negotiations
Experience supporting product launches and hospital contracting strategies
Deep understanding of commercial and government payer coverage, reimbursement landscapes, and hospital purchasing models
Willingness to travel domestically up to 50 %
The annual base salary for this position ranges from $200,000 to $250,000. The base salary range represents the anticipated low and high of the Syneos Health range for this position. Actual salary will vary based on various factors such as the candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role. In addition, some positions may include eligibility to earn commissions/bonus based on company and/or individual performance.
