
Senior Foreclosure Specialist

The Senior Foreclosure Specialist oversees multiple default‑related functions within the foreclosure lifecycle, ensuring full compliance with investor, insurer, state, and federal requirements. Serving as a subject‑matter expert, this role is responsible for the timely, accurate, and compliant execution of foreclosure‑critical activities. Key responsibilities include managing appraisal order workflows, preparing and issuing foreclosure bidding instructions to counsel, exercising sound judgment in support of the Pre‑Foreclosure Sale review process, foreclosure liquidation and post‑sale tracking, and administering the Foreclosure Hold process. The Senior Foreclosure Specialist identifies and escalates risk and compliance concerns, partners closely with internal stakeholders and external vendors, and ensures files progress efficiently while minimizing operational, regulatory, and financial exposure.
Duties and responsibilities
Oversee daily operations related to foreclosure‑critical deadlines, including Foreclosure Sale appraisals, bidding instructions, and sale postponements, as well as document chase, liquidation, post‑sale tracking, and REO referrals, ensuring compliance with departmental policies, servicer guidelines, and applicable government agency and investor requirements.
Administer the Foreclosure Hold process across multiple hold types, including ongoing validation and review in accordance with established cadence and control standards.
Conduct pre‑sale checklist reviews for loans scheduled for foreclosure sale, coordinating with internal departments to resolve issues prior to approval.
Operate effectively in a team‑based environment while independently managing assigned responsibilities with minimal supervision.
Communicate professionally and effectively with internal business partners, external vendors, and foreclosure counsel via email and phone, conveying information clearly, accurately, and appropriately.
Proactively identify issues that may impact timelines, compliance, or financial exposure; support process improvement initiatives, assist with escalations, and provide coverage for team members as needed.
Ensure complete, accurate, and timely documentation is delivered to foreclosure attorneys and internal stakeholders to support foreclosure actions.
Collaborate with team members, partnering business units, and management to support departmental objectives and maintain service level expectations for productivity and quality.
Monitor and manage shared team email inboxes to ensure timely response and issue resolution.
Minimum Qualifications Education
High school diploma or GED and/or 1 year of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
A minimum of 3 years’ experience in mortgage servicing or related field is preferred.

Compensation The salary range for this position is $43,492–$50,000. Actual compensation will be determined based on factors such as job‑related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographic location.
Working Conditions Work is performed remotely with no unusual hazards. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and other office equipment.
