The Position The Benefits Specialist will be a trusted contributor of the People & Culture team. Within the team, the Benefits Specialist will be responsible for assisting with the administration of all benefits and retirement programs, including, but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, and 401(k).
Key Responsibilities
Benefits Administration: Manage day-to-day operations of all benefit programs, including life event changes, enrollments, and terminations
Team Member Support: Serve as point of contact for Team Member inquiries regarding coverage, claims, and vendor issues
Open Enrollment: Assist with annual open enrollment process, including preparing materials and conducting information sessions
Data Accuracy: Maintain, reconcile, and audit benefits data in the HRIS/payroll system and vendor invoices
Leave Management: Assist with the administration of leave of absence programs, including FMLA, short- and long-term disability as well as State leave programs where applicable
Workers’ Compensation: Assist with processing of injury incidents and workers’ compensation claims and ensure proper OSHA regulations are followed
Vendor Relations: Act as a liaison with insurance brokers and carriers to resolve issues
Annual Audit Processes: Assist with annual workers’ compensation and 401k audits
Benefit Invoice Reconciliation: Monthly reconciliation of all benefit invoices
Qualifications & Experience:
2+ years of benefits administration experience
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Proficient with Microsoft Excel
Ability to carry out tasks with a very high attention to detail
Ability to prioritize and to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines
Team player
Knowledge of Paycor, our HRIS software, is beneficial
