About the Pricing Analyst Role Elephant Insurance is seeking a Pricing Analyst to join our remote team. The Pricing Analyst is an entry‑level analytical role designed for individuals who enjoy solving complex problems, working with data, and influencing business decisions.
As a Pricing Analyst, you will execute assigned analyses, support pricing proposals and regulatory filings, and build foundational expertise in insurance pricing and actuarial concepts. This role represents the first full‑time step in Elephant’s Pricing career ladder and offers structured career progression.
What You’ll Do As a Pricing Analyst, you will:
Assist in developing and testing pricing proposals
Support actuarial justification and documentation to state regulators
Perform recurring and ad hoc analyses to identify trends, performance drivers, and improvement opportunities
Interpret analytical findings and communicate insights clearly to stakeholders
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to interpret, communicate, and act upon data findings.
Maintain data integrity and contribute to improvements in department processes
Create and update reports to support leadership decision‑making.
Learn the end‑to‑end pricing lifecycle from exploratory analysis to implementation within rating systems
Over time, you will take on increasingly independent work and contribute deeper insights as complexity grows.
Who We’re Looking For
Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Actuarial Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Data Analytics, or related quantitative discipline
0–2 years of relevant analytical experience (including internship experience)
Foundational programming skills in Python, R, SAS, or similar analytical tools
Understanding of databases and SQL preferred
Strong Excel and Microsoft office skills
Excellent quantitative, analytical, and problem‑solving abilities
Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills
Self‑motivated individuals who thrive in a work‑from‑home environment and can manage multiple assignments independently
Interest in pursuing a long‑term career in Pricing or Actuarial Science
Progress toward actuarial exams is a plus
In-Office Requirements This role is eligible to be fully remote, in approved Elephant states. There is no requirement to come to the office for any amount of time now or in the future.
Work at Home Requirements
A dedicated workspace that is free from background noise and distractions of any kind during business hours.
A reliable high‑speed broadband Internet service provider with a connection speed of at least 10 megabytes to meet bandwidth needs. Click here to test your internet speed.
Access to a direct Ethernet cable connection physically connected to a router or modem is essential should your Wifi connection alone not be sufficient.
