Sr. Tax Analyst

Position Summary The Senior Tax Analyst will primarily be responsible for supporting the tax compliance and tax accounting process at Plug. This individual is expected to work independently and be able to recognize tax issues and recommend solutions. Additionally, they must possess strong communication skills and a professional demeanor. The position reports to the Director of Tax.
Core Duties and Responsibilities
Support preparation and review of annual property tax renditions, including analysis of assessment notices and tax bills to ensure timely filings and payments
Provide sales and use tax support including completion of exemption certificates, monthly filings and tax payments
Review and respond to federal state, and local tax notices; coordinate directly with taxing authorities and external consultants to resolve issues
Support property, sales and use, and income tax audits, including managing information requests and interacting with tax authorities to meet deadlines
Research property and sales tax matters, summarize research and determine proper tax treatment for specific transactions
Assist with federal and state corporate income/franchise tax compliance, including compiling data and information needed for completion of annual federal and state income/franchise tax estimates, extensions and returns
Provide cross‑functional support on indirect and specialty taxes, including GST/HST, gross receipts, fuel, withholding, and excise taxes
Support quarterly and year‑end income tax provision reporting in the audited financial statements (Forms 10Q and 10K)
Evaluate eligibility for federal and state tax credits/incentives and assist with assessment of financial impact
Assist with tax due diligence and data gathering needed related to mergers and acquisitions, transfer pricing and other international tax matters
Identify opportunities to improve and automate tax compliance processes using Excel and other technology tools
Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance or related field. Master's degree a plus.
3-6+ (Three to Six plus) years relevant experience tax experience.
Ability to work in a fast‑paced, rapidly changing environment
Exceptional data analysis and presentation skills
Ability to think logical and critically to measure the pros and cons and take the most appropriate decisions from the available resources
Ability to work effectively in both a self‑directed and team environment
Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize, and meet deadlines
Dynamic interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with diverse audiences
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office software
Must be highly driven and motivated to achieve
Pay Rate:
$69,900.00 - $104,900.00
