
MSL Director, Lung/GU/GI (Western Region-US)

Position Summary
As a Director, you will lead, coach, develop, and manage a high-performing team of MSLs and contribute to the creation and execution of plans linked to GSK’s Medical Strategic Objectives, priorities, and Integrated Scientific Communication Plan.

Responsibilities
Lead, oversee, coach, mentor, provide guidance and timely feedback to MSLs to ensure high levels of engagement, performance, and professional growth as well as effective territory and account management.
Be proficient in relevant disease state, product knowledge, and brand strategy.
Ensure that direct reports have clinical and therapeutic expertise, market/landscape knowledge and are delivering against relevant brand strategy.
Recruit, develop and retain top talent, building an organization that reflects a diverse and inclusive workforce.
Accountable for performance metrics by setting clear vision and expectations for their direct reports and by actively driving a mindset of continuous improvement and outward thinking.
Develop and align MSL strategies with business goals and oversee the creation and execution of medical account plans and the Field Medical Engagement Plan.
Collaborate cross-functionally across our enterprise to inform and maximize capabilities, partnerships, and outcomes.
Ensure that relevant and consolidated medical insights are appropriately shared across the business.
Foster strong collaboration with medical directors, clinical development teams, and commercial colleagues and represent the MSL team in cross-functional meetings and initiatives.
Ensure compliance with GSK standards, policies, local codes of practice, guidelines, and laws by driving a can-do culture where MSLs use sound judgment in their activities.
Work closely with Commercial leaders and Field Medical Account Liaisons to ensure optimal and compliant ways of working between teams.
May represent function during Medical Matrix Team meetings to ensure aligned implementation of MSL activities to the medical plan and strategic objectives.
Basic Qualification
Doctorate level with a medical or clinical focus (Pharm D, PhD, or MD) or advanced science/clinical/healthcare related degree with relevant clinical, industry and/or oncology experience (e.g., MSN, ANP, MS, MPH).
Experience in supervision of field-based teams focused on institutions, HCPs, or payers.
Regional field-based role with ability to travel.
Must live in close proximity to major airport.
Preferred Qualification
Experience working in the required therapeutic area.

Salary & Benefits The US annual base salary for new hires in this position ranges from $221,250 to $368,750. In addition, this position offers an annual bonus and eligibility to participate in a share based long term incentive program which is dependent on the level of the role. Available benefits include health care and other insurance benefits (for employee and family), retirement benefits, paid holidays, vacation, and paid caregiver/parental and medical leave.
