Packaging Designer
24 Seven, Los Angeles, CA, United States
A leading consumer products company is seeking a Packaging Designer to help develop innovative, on‑brand packaging across new and existing product lines. This role is ideal for a designer with a strong background in consumer goods – toy or product packaging experience is highly preferred – who enjoys combining creative thinking with hands‑on production and execution.
Key Responsibilities
Concept, design, and refine packaging for consumer products, with an emphasis on competitive, shelf‑ready solutions. Develop and maintain cohesive line looks, structural solutions, and branding across multiple SKUs and programs. Provide clear, detailed feedback on packaging, publishing, and marketing materials to internal teams and external partners/licensors. Guide and oversee the production of final artwork, ensuring files are accurate, press‑ready, and aligned with brand standards. Coordinate approvals and sign‑offs on layouts and final art with stakeholders to meet launch timelines. Collaborate closely with cross‑functional teams (marketing, product development, operations, vendors) to ensure packaging supports product and business goals. Manage projects from concept through production, hitting agreed‑upon deadlines and working within budget parameters. Maintain an organized digital workstation, including archiving projects, managing assets, and staying current on relevant Mac/creative software. Contribute to the design and visual presentation of showrooms and displays as needed. Act as a positive, collaborative team member and, when appropriate, mentor more junior designers. Qualifications
BA in Graphic Design or a closely related field, or equivalent professional experience. 2–5+ years of professional design experience, ideally within consumer goods; toy and product packaging experience strongly preferred. Strong portfolio showcasing packaging design, branding, and structural/production‑savvy solutions. Excellent visual communication skills, including layout, typography, color, and photo art direction. Solid understanding of print production processes, materials, and packaging manufacturing considerations. Proven project management skills: able to prioritize, juggle multiple projects, and deliver on tight timelines. Clear verbal and written communication skills and confidence presenting work and rationale. Comfort working in a collaborative, team‑based environment as well as independently. Adaptable and resourceful, able to pivot with changing priorities, feedback, and deadlines. Self‑motivated, with strong problem‑solving ability and attention to detail. Location: Hybrid role based in the San Fernando Valley; onsite presence required several days per week. If you have a passion for consumer product packaging and enjoy bringing brands to life on shelf—especially in the toy or broader consumer goods space—we’d like to hear from you. Accepted file types: doc, docx, pdf, txt, Max. file size: 10 MB.
