Role Description The Resident Director is a full-time on-site role located in Abilene, TX. The position is responsible for overseeing the development and daily operations of an assigned residence hall. Responsibilities include supervising and mentoring student staff, fostering a safe and inclusive community, coordinating and implementing educational and social programming, responding to emergencies, maintaining student conduct and policy compliance, and promoting personal growth and community engagement among residents.
Qualifications
Strong leadership, mentoring, and team-building skills
Experience in conflict resolution, student development, and crisis management
Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in written form
Competence in planning and executing programs that promote educational, spiritual, and social growth
Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive community for students
Bachelor's degree required; master's degree in Higher Education, Student Affairs, Counseling, or a related field preferred.
Previous residence life or student leadership experience strongly preferred
Ability to adapt and respond to various student needs and actively engage in an institutional mission
