Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role based in Salem, VA, for a Golf Course Superintendent. The Golf Course Superintendent will oversee and manage the daily maintenance and operations of the golf course. Responsibilities include implementing effective turf management strategies, maintaining irrigation systems, overseeing landscape maintenance, supervising staff, managing pesticide applications, and ensuring the overall health and playability of the course to provide an exceptional golfing experience. The role requires collaboration with team members and ensuring the course complies with environmental and safety guidelines.
Qualifications
Expertise in Turf Management and Golf Course Management to maintain optimal course conditions
Experience with Irrigation systems, including installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting
Skills in Landscape Maintenance to ensure visually appealing and functional course environments
Knowledge and application of Pesticides in compliance with environmental and safety regulations
Strong leadership and team management skills
Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
Experience in budget management and resource allocation
Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy, Horticulture, Turf Management, or related field is preferred
Certification or licensure in pesticide application is a plus
