Position Overview We are seeking a
Government & Law Enforcement Account Executive
to lead and expand Shaw Concepts’ presence within the federal, state, and law enforcement markets. This role combines strategic business development with hands‑on relationship management to drive meaningful growth in mission‑critical sectors.
Primary Objectives
Manage and expand an existing portfolio of national accounts across government and law enforcement sectors.
Convert inbound interest, product demonstrations, and evaluations into long‑term customer relationships.
Develop new business opportunities through disciplined local outreach, trade show participation, and consistent follow‑up.
Key Responsibilities
Take ownership of an assigned account list, including contact history, pricing, and open opportunities; develop a 30‑day engagement plan.
Maintain a consistent sales cadence through scheduled check‑ins, reorders, and account expansion efforts.
Track all quotes, POs, and backorders while keeping accurate CRM documentation and follow‑up tasks.
Develop and execute an annual trade show strategy with clear objectives, budgets, and performance tracking.
Implement best practices for trade show preparation, lead capture, and post‑event follow‑up within five business days.
Conduct in‑person visits and product demonstrations with command staff, trainers, and procurement stakeholders.
Support RFQ/RFP activities, prepare quotes, and guide customers through purchasing channels including POs, purchasing cards, and cooperative buying programs.
Collaborate with Operations on delivery schedules, special orders, and customer service expectations.
Collect and communicate field feedback to support continuous product and process improvement.
Requirements
Minimum of 3 years of sales and/or account management experience; prior government, law enforcement, or military sales experience strongly preferred.
Proven ability to engage and influence stakeholders across federal and local agencies.
Strong organizational skills with proactive follow‑up and a structured weekly workflow.
Working knowledge of government purchasing processes (POs, purchasing cards, cooperative contracts); RFQ/RFP experience a plus.
Willingness to travel locally within Northern Virginia and the DC/Baltimore region, with periodic national travel for trade shows.
Preferred Qualifications
Direct experience selling into federal, state, and local law enforcement or defense‑adjacent markets.
Experience conducting live demonstrations, evaluations, or training‑related sales engagements.
Established professional network within the Northern VA and DC/Baltimore government and law enforcement communities.
Compensation Base salary of
$80,000
annually, commensurate with experience, plus the opportunity to earn up to an additional
$40,000
in performance‑based incentives (total potential earnings up to
$120,000
for top performers).
